Before I started this journey, I was out of control. I had to express every emotion I felt, even when it was not appropriate or productive. My mind was constantly racing and scheming and trying to control the outcome of everything in my life. I burned a lot of bridges and damaged a lot of relationships that I cared about because I could not control my temper or be patient with people. I literally could not refrain from speaking my mind and I hurt people I loved with angry useless words that never needed to be said.

Through the BODY FOR LIFE program, I learned that I can better influence the world around me by controlling ONLY myself. It taught me self-discipline which I desperately needed. Once I learned to control my diet and my exercise habits, I found that I was less prone to emotional outbursts. When I cut sugar out of my diet, I no longer felt like the world would fall apart if I weren't holding it together. It was amazing! For the first time in my life I felt calm. My anxiety went away. I could tolerate irritating people. I could suffer an emotional upset without crying or blaming myself. I learned to be ok no matter what happens to me.
