My turning point was when I realized how much I was missing by staying inside and being afraid or too self-conscious to interact with my friends and loved ones. I have a wonderful girlfriend who is very active and enjoys the outdoors, which always intimidated me because I felt that I could not keep up. Being embarrassed of how I looked was really taking a toll on our relationship. This is what led to me to decide that I was no longer going to let my weight or my self-consciousness hold me back from spending time with the people I love.

My inner transformation has changed my life even more than my outer transformation. The confidence I have gained is unexplainable. I gained the courage to ask my girlfriend, the woman of my dreams, to marry me. That alone will impacted my life forever. I feel that no challenge is too great for me to take on.

This was not an easy challenge, there were a lot of bumps in the road, but it was worth it. After going through this journey I feel that there is no goal I cannot attain. I went from being nervous to go on a short hike to competing in a 5K race. When I ran my first 5K I was proud of myself for completing that challenge. That feeling has really inspired me to push myself to do things that I have always wanted to do, but have just been too hesitant to try. I really believe that if others could go through this lifestyle transformation, they too would gain confidence like I have. I hope that my story on the Body-for-LIFE community page will inspire others the way that reading others’ stories inspired me. There are a lot of young males around my age who hold themselves back because they are not confident enough to better themselves.

I hope that in my future career as a personal trainer, I can motivate others to make changes for a healthier lifestyle. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone seeking motivation and support to change their life for the better.
