Turning 50 was hard for me. The changes I experienced left me feeling discouraged and depressed. After a hysterectomy, I began to gain a lot of weight and lose energy. I was convinced I would never be able to lose my belly fat. I shied away from pictures, and I didn't feel comfortable in my clothes anymore. I lost the motivation and will to do the things that I used to love, and I generally just felt lousy about myself. I previously tried to follow the Body-for-LIFE program but never wholeheartedly committed. I had developed bad eating habits and ate for emotional rather than physical nourishment; I constantly made excuses about why I couldn't work out; and I realized I had become my own worst enemy. I knew I didn't want to be in the same place, or worse, 10 years down the line, so I decided to go all in. What started out as a 12- week journey has now turned into a lifestyle. Instead of gaining weight and losing energy, I lost weight and gained the energy I had in my 30s! The BFL program has helped me to shed weight as well as low self esteem, and it has given me the confidence and belief in myself that I haven't had for years. I find myself wanting to take new risks, spend more time with loved ones and embrace life. I feel at least 10 years younger and instead of facing aging with dread, I am looking forward to what the future holds. Body-for-LIFE has given me the tools I need to approach my 50s and beyond with excitement and hopeful anticipation. I am so grateful!
