Theresa Hornick: BFL Participant

Though Theresa knew she was fit, she still felt flabby. In 2000 Theresa entered the Body-for-LIFE Challenge. Before entering the Challenge, Theresa weighed 165 pounds with 22 percent body fat. Now, four years later, Theresa weighs 172 pounds with 16 percent body fat. "The Challenge gave me confidence to develop my performance on the softball field and as an officer in training, it helped me build better relationships with my family and friends, and it satisfied a passion for fitness that was covered up for so long!" Theresa says. Though Theresa has sustained her physique, she has her struggles. In college Theresa stayed active and busy with softball and being in Marine ROTC. Now she is a Marine Officer in training and has little time and energy to devote to personal fitness. "The struggle with food never ceases. For me it’s mostly portion control and timing." Theresa prepares and plans her meals in advance, and she packs food for in between classes so she doesn’t fail her healthy nutrition schedule. "I feel really excited about my success because it is something I can look at every day and feel proud of," Theresa says. "It is something that I have built with tools given to me by BFL principles and the excellent example my family has set for me! My biggest reward of all was the fuel that Body-for-LIFE gave me to pursue my goals more vigorously."
