Cindy Homan: 2002 Champion

Headed down a path of self-destruction and wanting to feel alive again, Cindy chose the Body-for-LIFE Challenge instead of medications. As an owner of a convenient store filled with sweets and southern-style breakfast and lunches, Cindy was surrounded by unhealthy food enemies every minute. Instead of taking the easy way out and eating hamburgers and fries from the grille at her convenience store, Cindy found the time and dedication to train and eat properly. And her success and dedication made her a 2002 Body-for-LIFE champion! Cindy went from 160 pounds, 45 percent body fat and a size 14 to 109 pounds, 9 percent body fat and a size 2. For someone who had never worn a sleeveless top or tank before her transformation, Cindy shops for clothes that are fun and it’s a real boost to her self-esteem. "Walking by the mirror and seeing toned shoulders and shapely calves gives me the confidence to wear clothes that I wouldn’t have considered before," Cindy says. "The knowledge I’ve gained by living the Body-for-LIFE lifestyle on a daily basis gives me the credibility and confidence to teach others. Women who have never been in a gym, women who thought they could never run on a treadmill or push themselves in a weight room are now encouraging someone else to believe. And that is what motivated me! To think that I might have had something to do with someone else’s transformation brings me to tears."
