Goal: Manage Weight
Mandy Holmes and Alan Fejes
My dad and I started the Body-for-LIFE Challenge without really knowing what the other was capable of doing. During the Challenge we became very close. Each day, when my dad texted to let me know how well he’d done in his workout, I became more and more proud of him. It was nice to see him excited about life again, and feeling good about himself.
At the same time, his hard work made me want to work even harder. I wanted to make my dad proud of me and show him the kind of woman he’d raised. It was exciting to push harder in every workout. I remember when I accomplished one of my goals, about halfway through the Challenge, running three miles in 26:45 minutes. As soon as I hit "stop" on the treadmill, I texted my dad. He was so proud and happy for me.
Halfway through, Dad was wearing smaller clothes and adding holes to his belts. He had more energy and was pushing himself further in each workout. He came to visit and actually had energy to play with his grandchildren.
The Body-for-LIFE Challenge is different from anything we’ve ever tried. It’s good for people of all ages. It works. You don’t have to kill yourself to get results! You just do the workouts and eat six meals a day (I couldn’t do it without EAS Myoplex shakes). It’s really that simple: not easy, but doable.
Thank you Body-for-LIFE Challenge for giving me a relationship with my dad, and for helping us become closer than we’ve ever been. Now I know we will both be around for a long time. We took our final measurements and weight together. Dad lost 21.25 inches and 29 ½ pounds! I lost 23.35 inches and 31 pounds!
