Q&A with Chris Goley
Q: Describe your life before the Body-for-LIFE® Challenge?
I simply gave no consideration to my diet nor did I exercise. I was out of shape and overweight.
Q: What made you finally decide to take that first step and enter the Challenge?
Looking at myself in the mirror, I didn’t like what I was seeing. I wanted to be slimmer and more muscular.
Q: What were your very first impressions of the program? Did you struggle or was it liberating?
The exercise plan was easy to follow. The nutrition plan, on the other hand took more pre-planning that what I was used to. After about the first week, I went out and bought a whole bunch of new Tupperware®*. From that point on, I started making all of my meals ahead of time and the nutrition portion of Body-for-LIFE® became a lot easier to follow.
Q: Talk about the moment you first began to see changes in your body and/or outlook?
After a couple of weeks on the Body-for-LIFE® Challenge, I noticed that I has a lot more energy than I had before. I was doing some dog training and I didn’t feel nearly as winded after a session as I would have before starting the challenge.
Q: Did you have to over-come any obstacles during your 12-Week Challenge?
About halfway through BFL I had to go out of town for some training. While I was out of town, I had to modify my workouts around the equipment that they had available at the hotel. It took me out of my comfort zone, but I actually ended up having some of my best workout at that hotel since there was nothing else to do.
Q: How did you feel on the very last day of your Challenge?
Q: What was the reaction of your friends and family to the amazing changes you made?
They think it’s awesome, too. Some of them are now doing the Body-for-LIFE® Challenge and are working out with me.
Q: Do you still follow the Body-for-LIFE® program?
Yes. It’s very user friendly to my schedule.
Q: If someone were to ask your advice about starting—and finishing—the Challenge, what would you tell them?
Don’t wait. Do it now. You’ll thank yourself!!
Q: How has your life changed since doing the Challenge?
My self-confidence has sky-rocketed and I feel a lot better about my body.
Q: Where do you think you’d be if you had never done the Challenge?
I would still be going to fast food joint at two o’clock in the morning.
Q: After going through the 12 Weeks, how was your mindset different that it was before? Were you able to face the challenges in your life with more confidence?
Immediately after completing the challenge, I was hospitalized and had to undergo surgery. The nurses were amazed at how quickly I recovered. There is no doubt that this was due to completing the Body-for-LIFE® Challenge.
Q: What is your favorite free day meal?
Pizza and Colorado Bulldogs.
Q: How have you spread the word of Body-for-LIFE® to other folks?
Many of my friends and co-workers come up to me now and asking about the Body-for-LIFE® Program and how they can get started. I work out with them and tell them about the BFL website and how easy it is to get signed up.
Q: What are your current goals?
Increase my cardio. I used to really hate running. Now, it is quickly becoming my favorite cardio exercise. I am amazed at how fast and far I can go now.
Q: Quotes that inspire?
During the challenge, one of the guys hung up this quote in the weight room:
Try not. Do or do not, there is no try. Yoda
Q: Define Success?
Success is never giving up and following through on what you set out to accomplish.
Q: Any final thoughts?
They are not lying when they say that it’s “Body-for-LIFE®”. This is much more than a 12-Week Challenge. It has become a way of life for me!
Q: What are your favorite EAS® products?
