  • 1 pound lean, ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14 ounce) can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Spray a large pot with cooking spray, turn heat to medium-high and add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until onion is translucent. Add turkey and cook until no longer pink. Add tomatoes and kidney beans and chili powder and cumin. Bring to a boil and then simmer for one to three hours, stirring occasionally (the longer it cooks, the better it tastes).

If you like spicier chili, feel free to add more chili powder, red pepper or Tabasco sauce. This recipe is also easily doubled or tripled by adding more meat, tomatoes and kidney beans.
