I've done this before... but it's been 11 years! Don't seem to have the motivation that I once had.. and also, the body is older! (ha)
So, where do I begin? Anyone else RE-building their body for life?
I took a 7 yr break from it. But this time I stayed with it over a year now, currently on my 5th challenge. I think it's the forums that really helped me stay on it this time. The people give me new goals to strive for and everyone's so supportive.
Begin by rereading your book. Crossing the Abyss. Remember WHY you are doing this.
I had the same issue, 10yrs here. Honestly just one day picked up and went to the gym and did my HIIT... and I'm on week 6. It all comes back fast, join us!

I'm starting a challenge on January 2! I have been back and forth with BFL for years. I have finished challenges in the past with excellent results, and it's the one program I know works. I have to work on the motivation part myself! It's really easy to get sidetracked by everyday life. Now I find myself completely lost and overweight. Now it's time to change that! I know how to do, so let's do it!!
I am restarting too. Last time I got down to 195 body fat and here I am up to 28% again. Why do we do these things to ourselves???
That was supposed to read 19% not 195!!!
I figured that was supposed to be %19! It really is a vicious cycle. I gain weight, get depressed, and gain more weight. Then comes the constant exhaustion, until finally you give up. I don't want to do that anymore. That isn't me!
I plan to start on Jan 2. I want to set some goals... I don't even remember how to calculate my body fat %.. and I probably don't even want to know what mine is right now!! I think this first 12 weeks I will focus on just sticking to the routine of eating correctly and working out. Just having energy again will be a plus!
Yep! Me too. In 2001 I went from 240 lbs at 36% bodyfat or so, down to 160 at 6% bodyfat using BFL. I was very active in one of the bfl yahoo groups. That forum was very helpful! Im on my second week now. Im 219.5 lbs, and about 24% bodyfat. As soon as i can find my calipers, ill know for sure lol. Good luck everyone!
Think I'm set... just bought 300 lb barbell set to go with my home gym! My husband is on board with this too.. and wants my help to get started. Hope this works well for us both supporting one another. I'm afraid that he'll quite after a few weeks and leave me to finish on my own. Maybe at least there won't be any extra "junk" in the house starting out!
Yes, Just Do It...think down the road in the summer how much better you will feel and the confidence you will have in 3 months, then 6 months! We are here with you sospain!
Thanks WenFit! I was glad to find this site to gain support by reading about everyone's pursuit to fitness and health! Didn't have this 10 years ago when I last did the challenge. Really need this for this go round. First day has not been going as awesomely as I planned.... I know that I didn't put this weight on overnight..and it won't come off that quickly either. So far... so good.

OMG... I came home from my first BFL workout in 10 years to find my 9 year old eating ICE CREAM for breakfast! His gmom had given him a pint! LOL!
