Starting Tomorrow

  • Hello gang,

Well, happy to report I survived the East Coast Earthquake.  I work in downtown DC for the government so needless to say it was pretty much chaos but at least I got home early!  Spent some time at the pool then hit the treadmill.  Went really well--really increased my speed today.

Been doing well eating and drinking lots of water.  Lower body tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

    Elizabeth

  • Hello all--

Doing really well with my eating this week so far.  Got in a tough lower body workout tonight.  Forced myself to do it even though I couldn't start it until 8:30pm after work.  Cardio tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

    Elizabeth

  • Great Richard!  I am got started on my own two weeks ago and I have lost 6 pds.  Mentally I feel stronger and more in control of my life and activities.  Less stress also.

    Good fortune to U.

  • Day 55

Can't believe how time flew.  Looking forward to my free day tomorrow. Emotionally draining week but at least i succeeded in putting a real scumbag away for the rest of his life.

Ric- Thanks for the you tube clip. Will save it next to the one of us lifting the premiership trophy last season. The team who can't be named put three past hopeless Spurs this week. Can't wait for the match against Suarez ,oh sorry Liverpool. Glory Glory....... you know the rest. Also looking forward to our bid to retain the Rugby World Cup! Go BOKKE!

Elizabeth. Glad to see you survived your trip down south and the east coast tremor. And straight back into the programme.

Tracing don't worry, look a bit at your water intake.Could be water retention.

Anyway heading home from the gym now.

    Goodbye

  • Hi Everyone,

Day 34 and then FREE day tomorrow.  Can't wait.  UBWO today with PT.  I'm quite sore from this week's workout sessions so it's been a bit difficult to peel myself out of bed.

Ric--Keep it up even with the free time.  It's harder to stay disciplined when the usual routine has been changed a bit but I have no doubt you will do great!

Elizabeth--Great job for still getting that workout in even at a later time.  I'm glad to hear the treadmill is working better each time for you.

Merv--You're almost done...amazing.  Stay strong through the finish line!

Have a great BFL day everyone and hit those 10's.

    Traci

  • Hi all--

just checking in.  Didn't have the greatest weekend--definitely splurged on my free day and had a bit too much wine while waiting for the hurricane.  Nothing to do now but get back on the wagon.  Did a great lower body workout last night.  Was unable to run today (and will be at work for a while) so plan to run in the morning and do upper body workout tomorrow evening.

Can't believe this is my 6th week.  I haven't been perfect by any means but I've just stuck with it consistently.  I always quit by this point and I'm not going to this time.  Even when I have days like this one that are bad and I'm irritable and stuck at work for too long and miss my work out I will still get up in the morning and make up for it.  I can at least do that.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

    Elizabeth

  • Elizabeth-Keep up the good work.  I am starting on Week 6 too and can't believe the end of this week would mean we would be 50% done.  Hang in there and we'll cross the line together.

Had LBWO yesterday and it was a good session.  PT had me do squats with a 20lb bar and finally I am able to do them correctly, considering the first time we tried them I was either falling backward or forward.  Legs are sore so I am working something.

Cardio for today and will aim to make the session count.  Day 38 almost over.

Keep up the good work everyone.

  • Hi all

    Day 61

Still going strong. Bit concerned about the weight loss. Hoping that it will show some decrease this month.

Ric. Bit concerned, are you still with us? You and I started the same day so would like you to be there at day 84!

Traci- Keep going with the squats. It really is the best leg workout.

Elizabeth-This is also the furthest i have gone. Now I am determined to finish. I have prioritised the program even at times above work. The irony is that my productivity at work has improved because my energy levels are higher. I am religious with the planning and i don't allow anything to disrupt my plans. THAT WAY I DO NOT CREATE CRISES TO GET OUT OF WORKING OUT like i did in the past.

    Keep going all

  • Day 65

Bit of overindulgence this weekend although I hit the gym hard. Had great cardio workout today. Upped my range effort levels on the elliptical trainer. Rang now 12-17. Really do not enjoy the treadmill and will do only once a week now.

Looking forward to a disciplined eating week and sticking to my daily plans.

    Have good week all!

    Merv

  • Good job Merv--Keep it up!

Yesterday was free day and I allowed myself to eat all the food I've been craving for.  Most of it was a bit high in sodium so I made sure to drink extra water since my body can retain so much water easily.  It was really good to eat and simply rest.  So glad we have that free day!!!

Day 43 for me and I am still shocked am at the 50% mark.  I can do this--already halfway.  I took day 40 pictures earlier this week and not much has changed compared to day 17 but compared to day 3 pics, my upper belly has reduced but lower gut still an big issue and I really want to lose that part but not sure how.  No real definition in muscle tone but I can see some slight changes.

I increased my stair climber to one level up and boy it was tough but am glad I was able to do it, so will keep at it for a couple weeks.  I have to say that while I do not feel like I am any stronger or feel anymore energetic, the weights and stamina numbers are increasing which is proof that I must be getting stronger.

Clothes are still the same fit so I am really not sure if the huge results will come on that week 8 mark.  As much as I hope for it to happen, I think I will be one of those people where that miracle week 8 is not me because of the changes I've seen so far and also just the body type I have.  And I am pretty certain I will need to do a few more challenges before I will ever see the results I am hoping to achieve.  I don't want to think about any future challenges right now, because I only want to focus on getting through this one.  Gotta get through this one first before dealing with any additional ones.  =)

Keep posting everyone and keep up the good hard work you're i know all putting in!!

    Traci

  • Happy Friday Y'all,

So I COMPLETELY FELL OF THE WAGON last week.  It was week 6 for me and I just didn't do anything.  No excuse at all and I really can't explain it except that I think I always hit the wall at that point.  But instead of throwing in the towel completely I am back on track.  I had to go out of town because my grandfather is sick but started back with the proper eating and working out on Wednesday.  Lost about a week and a half but I'm back at it and intend to finish it out (and then keep on going).

Strangely enough, my jeans are loose today so that's nice.

Hope everyone is doing well and that you have a good weekend.

    Elizabeth

  • Elizabeth--glad that you are back on the wagon.  You're getting on the right track.  Don't be too hard on yourself.  You have been working so hard thus far and I'm certain you will finish.  And the jeans being loose is great news.  I believe we both finish around the same time so I'd love to cross it with ya (and YES...to keep on going!)  =)

Day 48 today.  UBWO today and I am still stiff and sore from the earlier sessions this week.  Did up my stairs cardio by 1 level this and have been pushing hard each time to get through it so it's quite challenging.  I really thought I was going to die on Tuesday when I did my cardio but I made it through somehow.  =)

Am about to head over to the gym shortly to meet with PT so will be sure to make the session count.  Tomorrow would be the end of Week 7 and next week I am hoping badly for the miracle week 8 but quite honestly I do not think it will happen.  We shall see....

How's everyone else doing?  Would love to hear from you on your progress.  Keep it up friends.

  • Hey everyone--just wanna check in on you.   It's been a bit quiet so I hope everyone's doing great and staying on track.

Day 55 and the end of week 8 for me.  Free day tomorrow, so I usually don't count that but I'm 2/3 way done.

Let me know how you're doing and stay focused!!  Have a great day.

    trace

  • Hi Trace

    Day 81

Still here. 3 days left. Cannot believe how time flew. I am stronger, more toned and have lots more energy than before. Not happy with my results for body fat % ,but in all honesty, I could have done better on the nutrition side. If at first you don't succeed........Will start my second program on Saturday and will be more focussed in planning my eating. The muscle is there now its time to let it show!

    Keep going

    Merv

  • Merv-that's incredible!  Definitely post pics if you can or share stats.

It's Day 59 for me.  I had a bit of a snafu over the weekend with some bad eating on my free day and then skipped my workout the day after from not feeling too good with the bad food.  But I'm back again and completed UBWO yesterday.  Today is cardio..dreading it but it has to be done.

Did you plan on taking any time off in between challenges?  I read that BFL advises you to have a week or so of active rest before you start a second challenge but I suppose it's really up to the individual.

You're almost there and should be very proud for finishing.  Cheering you on all the way.
