Glad you are back jodio. And you are right, life will always be there giving us challenges, I guess its how we choose to do with those challenges isn't it? I too haven't been as pure in the eating side of things this time, but still a monster in the gym. Keep in touch please.
Firesong, thank you for asking about my foot. My foot started hurting about a year and a half ago when I was on the leg press. I was told it was tendonitis. I stopped exercising, and when I restarted the pain came back. Again I was told it was tendonitis. I didn't stop exercising that time around, but the pain got REALLY bad when I started walking on asphalt on my trip abroad. So there's 2 possibilities: (1) I had tendonitis, the muscles got weak, and more pressure was placed on the bone, OR (2) I've had a fractured foot for a year and a half. I hope that once the fracture is healed that the "tendonitis" doesn't come back, because, that way, I can train harder in the gym. Thanks again for asking.
BTW, how did your assessment go today?
"Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit." 3 John 2 (New Living Translation)
I did it!! I passed. I am very happy about that. So now its back to the firelines!
Sun, I am really hoping that the boot helps heal all of your foot issues. Though I do understand thats a long time to heal, at least you are getting the right treatment finally.
Congratulations, firesong! :)
Sunberry, Its good to have you back!
sorry friends i haven't posted in forever. i had a slow week. I had finals and so my eating was off as well as exercising. but i am getting back into it today! so i am excited. summer has officially started for me so i am ready to crack down.
Welcome all the new friends!
Firesong- congrats on passing the test. that is awesome!
I've been going back and forth about posting this: I don't want to come across as confrontational. I just felt the need to clarify that there are a lot of recipes in Eating-for-LIFE that are challenge-friendly, especially in the lunch and dinner sections.
Wishing everybody a HEALTHY day!
no worries sunberry,
my comment should have been more like, be careful of some of the recipes because they all are not fitting into the challenge stage. would that have been more fitting?
And you are never confrontational. Always feel free to post anything here. *hugs*
Hugs, Firesong! :)
How's everybody doing on the Challenge? :)
Im enjoying all the chatter on this thread firesong congrats lady!!
and Sunberry you are a trooper u go girl!! Keep er going all .. :-)
Mind if I join? I'm on my last day of Wk12C1, looking to go right into C2 tomorrow. I lost just under 20lbs, but I feel that I could have done a lot better. I missed my share of workouts (always seems to be the LBWO) and messed up my eating habbit more than a couple times. I really want to get it right this time around.
There you are island man. Glad to see you.
bvolpe22, Yes please join. And congrats on making through 12 weeks. And on the 20 pound loss. Can I ask why no active rest? I ask because I didn't want to 'quit' either but did find that my body was really needing the rest. I still worked out and ate clean, things just weren't as structured. I took off 3 weeks because of a vacation thrown in.
Keep us updated and welcome
Hi firesong, yeah, I'm taking it easy this week. I'm still working out and doing cardio, just bumping everything down a couple of notches. I noticed Monday morning that when I went to do my HIIT I was really dragging. I really wanted to start this week, but I guess one week easing off a little won't hurt. I'm still following proper eating, so I'm not worried about loosing what I have gained.
I have a vacation coming up at the beginning of august. I'm thinking about investing in some resistance bands to get me through the week.
bvolpe, I didn't think I needed a break either until I took it and realized my body needed not so much rest but recovery. I did cardio, but not the HIIT. And I did maintenance weight lifting. Until I took an extra week for a vacation and ate and drank my way through it. *LOL* My struggle for C2 has been the eating which really surprised me because that was so easy for me in C1. But now back the straight and narrow with the eating.
So where you headed for vacation?
welcome bvolpe22 :)
congrats on the success so far!
I am going on a few vacations and I am taking resistant bands because they really are a life saver!
Firesong- how is the eating going?
Sunberry- how are you doing?
I have eaten clean this week and gotten my workouts in so i feel pretty good this week! i am down a total of 13lbs starting from the beginning of C1. That is a lot for me because I don't have a ton to lose. Probably a total of about 5 more lbs. that would be healthy for me to lose. I just need to tone up then.
Hey, Mads! Congrats on losing 13 lbs. That's AMAZING! You're SO close to your goal weight. You must be SO excited! :)
I'm doing GREAT! I've been eating clean, drinking plenty of water, and working out intensely for 2.5 weeks now. I found my WHY I'm on this journey, and no temptation seems great enough to get me off track. I REALLY feel I've made a lifestyle change FOR GOOD. Woohoo!
Good vibes being sent to everyone on this journey!!! :)
