A day of rest...The first week has come to an end...and my new challenge is a week old. I feel great, except for the unothorized breakfast and the oversized supper I consumed on this free day. I don't think that's what I'd like to do next week.
Energy Level....much improved
Aerobic Level...Much Improved
Strength Level...Little Improvement (but improvement)
Attitude... :)
Tomorrow...Starting the second week and thinking positive towards it. I did some reading about BFL and ready to go.
Lets do it!
Randy
Up this morning drinking my water and about ready to head to the gym for a lower body workout. This week has been a challenging week with the snow, power outages and turkey day at relatives...Whew...I'm glad it's over and time to move on. I managed to move my aerobic day indoors to the gym and not to overload too much on the turkey and accessories. So, this is day 12 and really looking forward to it. Thanks for the advice and encouragement to everyone and have a good holiday weekend.
Day 12, wow, this is moving right along and feels ever so good to be back on BFL. After 10 years watching my body and mind transform out of the 'healthy' way of living, I sure plumped up! But now I am on the road to recovery and feel great about every bit of it. The weights im lifting and pressing in the gym at where they need to be and now it's just 'progress'. Thanks you family and friends for the encouragement. Randy was right, the challenges put infront of us with Thanksgiving, Power outage, first free day..... WE made it and still plowing forward!

Day 13,
The last of the first two weeks. Being a challenge this week, this is turning into something more than I had expected. The great support between family and being able to push beyond physical limits that I've ever pushed before. Tomorrow is our weigh in day and I really don't know what to expect. I will be not be using it as a freeday because I used it on Thanksgiving. :)
I can already feel a difference and am so excited about what is yet to come. I have been reading other posts in this forum and it seems to rally get me pumped up and ready to go again. Thanks to all for your input and suggestion.
Have a great weekend,
Day 14
I went for an easy run (not that easy for me :)) today just because of the day I missed for snow. I didn't do any peaks but it allowed me to run a little with no pressure and to get comfortable.
Today is also my weekly weigh in...so, I happy with my 2 week stats.
Starting Weight, Body Fat, Body Mass...231 lb, 36.7 BF, 31.0 BM
2nd wk. Weight, Body Fat, Body Mass...221 lb, 24.3 BF, 27.0 BM
( I'm 6'-4")
My goal this week is to overcome my "head" and do a better job on my intensity levels. I have had a little trouble with dialing in the weights...seems one day I need to put more weight on for the next time and another day it seems that I have a hard time lifting what was put on my plan. I'm hoping I can get this figured out.
Thanks, family and friends
Just starting the 3rd week and received a great motivational letter from Peter last night. It's amazing the power of a few simple words...Thanks Peter.
Today's Upper Body workout was outstanding. Except for an adjustment on one of the bicep weights, I reached all my "Intensity Levels" on all sets. I also went up 5lb per set on biceps and moved up 10 lbs on triceps to dial that one in.
Great Day!
Hi Randy,
Congrats on reaching week 3!! Going up in weight is fantastic! Make everyday count, try to leave the gym with feeling a true sense of accomplishment.
I'm on vacation and saw a billboard with this message:
"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. dream deep, for every dream precede the goal".
Have a great day,
Lori
Day 16
Pouring down rain this morning so I moved inside the gym for 20 minutes on the elliptical. I really pushed myself through the head games and came out the other side very satisfied.
"try to leave the gym with feeling a true sense of accomplishment"...lorig
Yes indeed...this feels so much better than the alternative.
Thanks,
Day 16, this is so different than the 1st time I did BFL. The 1st time through, I was a follower. This time, I feel much more responsible for me and our team. So I found out today that I was asking too much of myself in my workouts. Not that I cant push to a 10, but the levels I was setting for my arobics, running, was set higher than I could reach at this point so I was disappointed in myself for not completing it. Well, I found out by talking to Randy and Renee, just make your 10, no matter what you wrote down.... End of story :) Just do it!
Day 17
It's beautiful out today and it's lower body day. Doesn't it figure...pouring down rain on the day I run and beautiful on the day I'm inside. Bump in the road?...no way!
I took a nice walk the the gym and back and had an outstanding leg day. Once again, I am going to increase the weight for the next time. I can't believe how this program is working. My energy level has increased along with a better attitude. The meals Gayle fixes are delicious (thanks sis)...I don't feel I'm missing out on anything.
And I'm only in the 3rd week...Wow!
Day 20
I'm just ending week three and looking forward to my freeday tomorrow. This was the best week so far as far as "stuff" happening. I stayed true to the exercises (pretty much right on) and the nutrition.I am getting a little sore in my hip from running so I decided to move inside every other aerobic day and use the elliptical. I'm also seeing slow improvement with my weekly weigh in tomorrow morning. Thank you Peter for the words of wisdom..."the outer transformation is visual of how you've changed in the inside!"
Day 21
I weighed in today and didn't get the results I was looking for. The important thing is I'm seeing changes not only physically but on the inside to. So needless to say the numbers didn't get me down.
1st wk. Weight, Body Fat, Body Mass....223 lb, 29.7 BF, 30.2 BM
3rd wk. Weight, Body Fat, Body Mass...220 lb, 24.0 BF, 26.8 BM
Today was my Free day and I did have the Big Burrito and an evening ice cream bar. Except for those two things I had the rest of the meals by the book.
I'm ready for tomorrow...excited to see if I can go beyond what I did last week.
Day 22
Excellent Lower Body day...went up in weight and have determined that next time I will even go up more. It must be the peaks that I reach every time. No way did I get this increase when I was lifting on my own. Exciting eh?
Day 23
Ran the track today... I didn't have soreness in my hip that I was getting before (noticed a little soreness about 10 min after) I will move back inside next time and then alternate back out until I feel better about the soreness. I did hit my high points and am very happy with this program.
Day 24
I've been gettting up in the mornings (around 5am) with my hubby making sure he is out the door with his meals for the day and starting my day. I have my shake, ice water and begin my day. Sure makes for a much more productive day :). After week 4, we (Vern & I) are changing up our weight program, going from bar bells and dumb bells to machines. Im excited! Begining to see a bit of tranformation to my body, here we go!!!!!
Thank you Randy and Pete and the whole team for your encouragement and support, Love you!
Today was Upper Body (my favorite) and for a change in pace, I headed to Seattle w/ Vern and worked out in my old gym. Because I was up at 4:45am, I had a Myoplex Original shake for breakfast and a coffee to go.
Talk about energy!...I hit those peaks and am going to raise the weight 5 more pounds for next time. I believe it was the energy from breakfast and a "good" attitude that helped. For a change during the next couple weeks, I will eat before the weight room... The aerobic days I will maintain a fasted state before my workout with a meal an hour after to burn the fat.
Thanks Gayle...The eggs with veggies and potatoes were just what I needed for the return trip.
Another boost Lori's transformation photos (84 days unbelievable)...
