I started on August 27 and this is my fifth day. As the first week comes to an end I wanted to compare my experience with those who are a bit ahead to see if what i feel is typical?
Before starting the challenge I had a very hard time sleeping. I would go to bed later than usual, toss and turn in bed semi awake and then get up earlier than expected. I was getting stressed out a lot too. My attention span was all over the place and I was often irritable and easily agitated. I also lacked clarity of thought and focus.
After the first week on Body for life program, my sleep has improved tremendously. I go to bed on time and wake up fresh. I have a clearer head and I do not stress out as much. My body has not changed much but mentally I feel more optimistic. Before starting this challenge I would rely on energy shots to get through the day. It has been three days and I have not needed any red bull or energy drink. Instead the Myoplex shakes seem to fill me up and they give me energy to go through the day. I used to have tremors and jitters all the time (most likely due to energy drinks) but I noticed that I no longer have them.
Is this what people experience in their first week?
SeaHound,
Congratulations on starting the BFL challenge!! Yes better sleep and a clearer mind are a part of BFL. I would also think ditching the energy drinks has helped as well. I used to down the Red Bull and wonder why I couldn't sleep. I am glad I don't need that anymore. There is so much more energy, real energy, when you feed your body and hit the gym with all you have.
Congrats on a great first week!! Keep going!!
