The scale is the worst! Im on the fence about weighing in on Saturday morning. I didn't want to use the scale as a tool--but I cant help but wonder if im eating the right portions. And if im eating too much--I would rather find out now then 3 weeks from now. But I have to think it through some more. Anyway, having said that...don't let the scale take over your mind. Because honestly--lets say you don't like the number you see...and then you decide to give up--are you going to lose weight going back to the old way of doing things? No! So you end up self sabotaging yourself and doing the exact opposite of what you want.
Read my Signature in RED...lol
Tis better to look UP in the mirror to be inspired than to look DOWN at the scale and lose your desire!! - SEM
Love that signature! Hate that scale lol
Hey Fizz! just checking in. how is everything coming along?
(I tried to do a private conversation, but didn't see it on your page, so I'll put this out there and if you want someone to talk too... I'm here, email me at home - my email address is on my home page or start a "conversation" by clicking on my name which takes you to the home page... all the best...)
I don't know you, I've only just read this thread for the first time.... but my heart is breaking for you right now because you haven't been back..... I know you had obstacles to overcome in your last week of posting and you were really mad at yourself after freeday (you didn't do that bad you know.....) and the damn scale... please remember this is a 12 WEEK PROGRAM not 1 WEEK or 2 WEEKS or 3 WEEKS ETC.... some people don't see things move until week 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or even 13 in one case I know of. We see our progress by measurements, clothes and how we feel, the scale should not be used, especially when it does your head in like it has to you.... YOU CAN DO THIS GIRL!
I saw several "little slip ups" in your nutrition as you were posting along with a question mark over the training that I want to talk to you about...
So please... your family STILL needs you healthy, find that wonderful enthusiasm you had, push fear in the face and fight back, come back and be open minded to some suggestions for where you are a bit off track.. it may help..
At the very least, please click on the link below and read the posts from "real women", just like you, lost heart, but so glad they didn't give up...

Obstacles are the quickest way to decipher the
winners from the losers....
can't think what say really fizz, i'm starting my 12 weeks on monday.
but this is a community and i feel we stick together.
i just hope you are not suffering in silence,
so let us know how things are.
My success is your success.
Sounds like Fizz needs to hear the roast beef story AND the pool one. :D
(In my best Star Trek voice)....
You are on the BFL Enterprise, and you arent human anymore. You are a roast of beef. You are marbled with lean meat, and layers of fat intertwined. (you know the kind....) Once you begin to eat clean, and work out and use those muscles, over several weeks the layers of fat that are marbles thin out. The lean meat appear larger, stronger, tight. Soon that ol' roast beef is of high quality! But think about it....it takes TIME and EFFORT to get the lines of fat away from that roast, because they are all over!!! You cant spot reduce fat off a roast! Hello?!
When you don't SEE results, you need to believe! This is where the MENTAL transformation begins, and needs to take root. You need to understand, that weight loss, and visible results begin from the internal organs out. Once THEY have leaned out, then the skin around them can start THEIR job of shrinking and tightening around the new, lean, less marbley fat.
Then, once apon a time, there was a swimming pool. It had a shallow end, and a deep end. In the bottom of the deep end was the plug. Once the plug is pulled, the water can then drain. The first area to show is the shallow end. It can move rather quickly, but then there seems a lull in movement. ... There is still much water left in the deep end! Did someone put the plug back in?! Then all of a sudden, slowly, we see the deep end moving down, and down, and down. Again, near the bottom it seems to stall once again. Level with the plug...it almost seems to have stopped all together. But nope! Look closely! The water is still moving, from ALL over the pool, slowly, and down the drain.
So, the moral of the story is - you may not SEE change. But believe me, it happens, for those who are willing enough to commit, persist, and remain unstoppable.
Hey I just signed up to start a BFL Challenge 2/3/14. Where do I find the meal plans and exercises etc. I have nothing to follow...any help would be great. Thanks.
WPT71 - Would be great if you could get the book, but if not, under Library on this site will get you started... You need to do a lot of planning before you start otherwise you will set yourself up to fail.... read as much as you can and type keywords in the search box up the top, should help you, as well as the people on here doing challenges, or those that have done many.

I didn't read all the other replies so someone may have already said this. The single most important thing for me during my last challenge was to plan everything down to the smallest detail. As they say, if you fail to plan you plan to fail.
