Seriously need to lose fat

  • I am about to start the BFL challenge, here in the UK.  I've been warming up this week by doing 2 sessions of weights and one of cardio. I'm starting because I stood on the scales to motivate my self for weight loss and found myself matching the weight I guessed I was but the analyser part frightened me. 51.1% body fat! Has anyone else started so high? I don't expect to burn fat faster but will this affect muscle building or my liver? The liver has so many functions, one of which deals with the elimination of fat, I don't want to overload it. To assist in any advice giving, I'm female, over 30 and only have dumbells, no bench , a pair of trainers and an exercise bike. And weigh 97kg.

  • Once you start just hide the scale and bring it out every couple weeks.  The first time I did the challenge I was extremely overweight and in the beginning I watched the scale almost everyday.  I got so aggravated I threw it out lol.  Once I did I started to see and feel the changes that were happening rather then looking at numbers, the way you will feel will be your biggest motivator for the next couple months.  Give it a couple weeks to get into a solid routine and you will do great.  Just stick to the workouts and eating right and the weight will come off faster then you think.  Your liver is able to handle the fat, and drinking all the water will help to filter it more gradually.  Good luck!!!
