So...I'm lying in bed, hiding from my kids with the laptop so that I can meal plan and join this forum. Today is the first day of my second challenge. After my first child 5 years ago I did 8 weeks of the BFL program and was in the best shape of my life. I now have a 2 year old daughter as well as a 5 year old son and I am the most out of shape I have ever been in my life. I have been eating, not exercising and drinking waaaay too much lovely wine. I need this 12 week challenge to get my body and mind where they need to be. I feel absolutely disgusting!
So, I'm 33 years old, 5'9", 68kg (150 pounds) and I plan to get back down to my happy weight of around 60kg (135 pounds-ish).
I am battling mentally and thinking of every reason I can find NOT to go to the gym today but the excuses have to stop - I just joined a 24hr gym so I can fit in my workout at night if I have to.
And I'm such a chicken that I almost didn't post this. Hopefully I can find some like-minded people so we can keep each other on track!
Aussiejen-Welcome. You have already done the hardest part in taking the first step and committing to the challenge. You know that it will be hard, but you will be in the best shape of your life. I started another challenge yesterday with some others on the BFL WARRIORS thread. Feel free to stop by anytime and join in. Good luck.
Hello Aussiejen. I have just started my second challenge I am on day 3. The first step is always the hardest. Good luck and keep us posted on your journey
Aussiejen, welcome! You have to do what you have to do and here you are. I to belong to a 24hr gym and believe me working out late at night was not what I call an ideal time. I had in my head that working out in the morning was a must and since I never got up, I failed, so Ijust never went. We have a family with two children, 3yrs and 4 month old boys, so I do know how they can keep you busy and your time is limited. I am in week 7 currently and been in the habit of working out now daily, it's my new addiction lol. I hated working out late, but to be honest once I was done, I felt wonderful and accomplished. The first few weeks were tough for me and I too wanted to throw every excuse out there to not go. 4 weeks in the results were great and my mindset has changed. I'm even starting to work out early in the morning now too because I actually have energy!!! So don't give in, stay focused and remember it's about progress not perfection!!

Best wishes to you on your BFL journey. There are many people here who have your back. Doing this program with kids is totally do-able. No more excuses; it is time to make your health a top priority. What better gift to give to yourself and your family than a healthy YOU!! As Cuervo stated above, a few of us just started another challenge this week as well. If you need any extra support or have any questions, we are on the Warrior thread.
"If you really want something, you will find a way. If you don't you'l find an excuse."
"The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday!"
Aussiejen,
You CAN do it. If there were anything I could go back and tell myself as a young mother, it would be to take care of myself and that a little personal time is ok. You don't want to be 7 more years down the road and more out of shape- Do it NOW.
Sister
AMEN SISTER!
Finished day 6, free day was yesterday so I will wrap up the week tomorrow. HIIT is a killer. I was so sore after LBWO that I could hardly walk- even hurt to sit on the toilet. Not sure if that means I did something right or wrong.
