Food-where to begin, family, work, new baby, etc... can it be easy to eat healthy?

  • Hi ALL!

Does anyone have suggestions for lunches, quick dinners and keep enough calories the right calories? I want to start tomorrow! :)

  • HI there,

My recommendation to you would be to access the website bodyforlife.com for some great recipes or get the book Eating for Life.  I dedicate one day to cooking and packing food so that I can grab and go during the week.  Usually on my free day I'll do all my grocery shopping, cooking and packing (that way if I go to the grocery store I'm not fighting with cravings etc).  You can do it, even being as busy as you are.  Prioritizing your health and giving yourself the time to eat right and exercise will allow you to be better in every other area including motherhood :).

    For something really fast though:

Lunches: Grilled chicken (on the George Foreman), tossed into a salad with every veggie around and a piece of fruit or a quick sandwich with turkey breast.  Meals don't have to be complicated.  Just filling and nutritious...remember you will be eating every 3 hours so little meals to keep you going is what you're after.

Dinner: I cook up chili or meatloaf from the Eating for Life book and pop that in the microwave for a quick meal (the meal has everything you need, protein, carbs, veggies).

    Hope this helps.
