I barely started the program about 5 days ago and so far I've stuck through the intense Cardio, and I have to be honest I'm starting to see results, which is great. But, yesterday I came down with the cold/flu and I don't want to push my body to the limit to the point that the sickness gets worse.
any suggestions?
I can't speak for you. I had a head cold during my first challenge that had me wanting to drill a hole in my head to release the pressure. I continued to workout and do cardio. I think it probably might have helped me stay stronger through the illness. Hope you feel better! That stinks! Don't give up!

Thanks. I wont, the type of workout I did was just walking, but in the morning I'm going to kick it up a notch!
My opinion? Don't exercise if you've got the flu. BAD, BAAAAAAAAAAD idea! You don't play around with the flu.
A cold? Different story. If it's not a debilitating cold, if it's not a cold that would keep you out of work, then it's probably fine to exercise. I've worked out with a cold a number of times. I had strep throat, so I did NOT work out at that time.
In the end, just listen to your body. If it's SCREAMING at you to lay off, then lay off.
I've missed one workout becuase of the stomach flu, but never from a cold. I think working out really helps you feel better from a head cold and makes it go away faster. That is my experience anyways. I
Dont give up. I was sick with a sinus infection, and tried to work out, but didn"t. As soon as I got better, i started back again. Don"t give up.
Thanks everyone.
Maybe I shouldn't have posted anything, it was just a minor cold due to weather, but these days with asthma a minor col could lead to worst health conditions.
But I didn't give up, just did minor exercises like walking, and a little bit of cardio. But tomorrow I'm going to do an intense workout!!! Pretty excited.
Agree w/ joninjacksonville. I have been in construction my whole life, and always went to work with colds, and head colds. Just took a daytime med - and could work just fine.

I used to get sick quite easily when I stressed my body with intense workouts. Then one day a nutritionist told me to take L-Glutatmine and I haven't gotten sick since. It helps with your immune system and it helps to retain energy. I was coming home totally wiped out before taking it. Maybe it would help some of you, too. Hope so!
