With my job getting busier I will be starting my NEW program on the 20th of Jan at 5 am, and if all goes right, should be done no later than 5:35 am...lol. P90X3!!!!!
Tis better to look UP in the mirror to be inspired than to look DOWN at the scale and lose your desire!! - SEM
So, my 1st days workout was called Total Synergistics, which is a total body workout. Some of the exercises were very challenging to me and some were what I expected. Overall 30 mins was all I could handle...lol. My stomach is feeling the core workout parts. I think this is going to be a fun program for me to follow and the time frame will work out well for me too.
Thank you so much for sharing. Keep at it and you'll get better.
I hope so, I hate pull-ups...lol. Hurts my shoulders and not in a good way.
Wow, Agility was kinda fun. Lots of moves I have not seen before and my body noticed...lol. I can not remember half the names, but Tony put me to the test on what I will call walking high planks with plyo push-ups on the return. Lots of running around..if ya want to call it that...lol. Every exercise I pooped out with 3-7 sec left on the clock...lol. When I started I had on a T-shirt and a Long sleeve T-shirt. After the 2nd exercise I was just in my T-shirt and when I was done...it was nasty wet...lmao. Loved it!!
This morning was my dreaded Yoga. Not a big fan of Yoga, but for only 30 min...I think I will survive..lol
WOW, the P90X3 Challenge is a Challenge! This is one program I had to modify. Not cause I wanted to, but more because I have no place for a pull-up bar, wimpy bands, and I have bad shoulders. So I use our Total Gym for this exercise. Whatever works right?
So, for those of you who do not know what P90X3 has to offer, one of the exercise programs is called "The Challenge", and for me...it is! It is 4 rounds + a bonus round of Pull-ups superseted with Push-ups. You have to first pick a number of reps you will do for each exercise and those are the numbers to shoot for through the whole 30 min, except for the Bonus round. Each round is done for 2 sets. Since this was my first time, my numbers were 12 pull-up and 20 push-ups. This is how the program goes:
1st round - wide grip pull-ups followed by regular push-ups x 2.
2nd round - chin-ups followed by military push-ups x 2.
3rd round - close grip pull-ups followed by wide push-ups x 2.
4th round - pole vaulter pull-ups(opposite grip pull-ups) followed by staggered stance push-ups (switch grips and stance on next set) x 2
Bonus round - Pick a pull-up to do and do 1 pull-up immediately followed by 3 push-ups, with now rest until Tony says stop.
BANG! 30 min and DONE!!!
I found out that since I am using the Total Gym, I need to increase my Pull-ups.
Wouldn't this be a better topic for the P90X3 board? I don't have anything against P90X (completed the full 13 weeks in 2010) but this is the Body For Life forum. I know from experience that P90X has their own boards and they get a lot of posts.
Kind of like being on the Chevy forum and posting about your new Ford truck if you know what I mean. <g>
Well, I have been a BFL member since 2001, and I am just posting my exercises. You can read it and be positive that I was able to complete it, or just read it and say nothing at all if you do not agree with the fact that I am at least posting my workouts!! Also, you would not have thought anything about it if I had left the word P90X3 off the board. So no, this would not be a topic for P90X3 board. Just wanted to show my exercise program, and that I am sticking to my 2011 New Years Resolution of staying fit and healthy again.
I didn't hear any negative post when I was doing Body Beast! I learned a LONG time ago...nothing positive to say...better to say nothing at all!!
But hey, thanks for the heads up Dave.
Plus, I am not pushing anything on anyone....
Wow, can ya tell you pissed me off with your comment?
I don't think I was overly negative. I added the <g> to show I was smiling. Just sharing an opinion. If I pissed you off, that's unfortunate.
Not a computer geek..I do however know what this means :) not <g>
The <g> means "grin" When I'm writing to a guy, I usually use the <g> for grin, or <VBG> for Very Big Grin.
Ha, and somehow I got Very Bad Girls outta that...lmao. Learn something new every day
Well, I thought yesterday morning's exercise was brutal, but nope, had to throw in something new to my body last night. Now Dave, I don't know where there is a Jillian Michaels forum board is so I am sorry if this offends you....lol. But, my girlfriend wanted to try her new dvd called "Hard Body", so, me being the Macho man that I am...lol...picked level 1. After doing all those push-ups and pull-ups, I was feeling it. She had 6 circuits and there were 3 different styles of....PUSH-UPS!! She then does these for 2 rounds. 45 more painful mins on my body...lol. We showered, ate, I crashed on the couch. She woke me up to go to bed at 10. Forgot to set my alarm and woke up to hers. Needles to say my body is very sore today and I miss my morning workout...lol
