Training for 10k, now starting BFL--keep running?

  • Hi, all-

I am currently training to run a 10k on July 4th. I follow Galloway's plan, running 3 minutes, walking 1 minute. I do 3 miles twice a week and a longer run once a week. I am going to be starting BFL on Monday. Do I stop my 10k training and switch to the aerobics suggested by the book? Or do I continue my training and switch to BFL aerobics after my race?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Folk,

I don't run, but I have read sooo many that do during the BFL program.  Read around on the forum a little and you may find them.  I believe many run on there off day - long distance & during cardio days.  Do the 20 minute cardio then there long run, but may sure that you let your body recover from the UB & LB workouts.    I don't know if this helps?!  Also, I just finished my first challenge & wanted to train for a 5k just not enough time, but between I am looking at training & following the program.

    Good luck,

    Tonja

  • I am training for a half marathon and will continue to run I have to  however I will add sprints into it and also hill training to increase endurance and my heart rate.  If time permitting sometimes I add a spin class or eliptical into it just o mix it up.  Ive do BFL before but this is the first time I wi incorporating running into it.  Good luck!
