I'm exactly the same weight as when I started, but have noticeable increase in muscle. I think I'm trading fat for it pound for pound as I have tightened my belt one notch since I started.
FostersMom, don't forget, there IS water in beer...
End of week 4! Good news, I could see a difference on my pictures. Bad news, the scale went up a couple pounds since last week!
Well, I have to admit though I did all my workouts, my free day actually started the night before. And did we enjoy a few good meals in these 30 hours! Actually, even if I am a bit disapointed about the scale, this week-end was well worth an extra week of the program.
I am glad to see everyone is keeping up. For sure, we'll have bad days (or even weeks), but we will go all the way and be rewarded in the end!
I had a free weekend last weekend but I did workout Saturday. I am up 1.8 pounds from last Thursday but I know the high sodium intake leads to water retention and other "biological matter" are the cause of the extra weight. My energy levels are high (and my appetite) and I can lift a little more weight. Long term progress is key and attainable with short term goals that are not set too high.
One step backward but pushing two steps forward.
I did yoga last night and this pose was fun and felt great.

hi again! Okay .. I'm getting excited about the fact that it's week 4 .. 3 more workouts for me this week and then on to week FIVE!! that means we're ALMOST half way!!
the milestones really encourage me .. I always think .. "okay, I just have to do what I've already done 3 more times" .. etc. I do that when doing cardio too .. as soon as I hit the 9 (or "kick 9's ass") I think .. okay, round 1 down .. 3 more to go .. etc. soo mentally gets me through
ANYWAYS .. I probably need to get a sitter to get to the gym today ... I have an UBWO .. can't wait 'til I'm done w/ it!!
So glad to have you all to do this with .. thanks for persevering!!
I am also a nursing mom, how have you modified the diet to keep your milk supply?
yaaaay!! I'm so glad we're nursing moms together doing this!!!
I "alter" my diet by ALWAYS eating when I'm hungry, and I drink a TON of water .. AT LEAST a gallon/day. I make sure the food I eat is clean, healthy food .. chicken *** or a vegetable of some sort .. I try not to overdo the fruit, but grab and apple or banana here and there. A book called The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno is a really good resource for eating clean .. helped me a ton.
I will say .. my son is 8 months old, so my milk is very established and stable .. where when I tried to start the program earlier .. I think he was 5 months .. I felt like I was compromising a bit. I took fenugreek supplements during that time .. that REALLY helped. Are you familiar with fenugreek? You can get it at any health food store/vitamin cottage.
I'm SOO excited to report that I'M DOWN ANOTHER 3.3 LBS!!!!!! WOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! I'm gonna try to post pics on my profile soon .. :)
One more workout 'til week 4 is HISTORY!!
Have a great day!
Beginning of WEEK 5!
lets keep the motivation and activity levels up.
Who else is here? Do we still have a group? I miss the updates!!
I threw out my back this morning .. not good .. so I'm babying it for now, and may have to miss a workout or 2 .. or just take it a little easy. I'll keep ya posted!
Free day was AWESOME yesterday .. I ate pizza .. it was awesome.
anyways . chime in if you're still around!!
Most people give up weeks 5-8. If you get past week 8 it is easy to finish. This challenge has had more road bumps than my first one.
Still around, and week 5 is almost over for me.
I indulged in 2 free days in a row this week, so I am going a full 2 weeks without to "make it up". Wish me luck ;)
My shoulder has been hurting for a few days now so skipped the shoulder exercises and did not push too hard the other muscle groups either this morning (after all, everything's linked)... still I manage to get a few really nice 9s :)
Halfway point definitely in view, I can't wait! Already fitting better in my clothes.
I'm still around. Going out of town this weekend so it will be a real challenge for me but I am prepared and I think I can do it. Will work out early Friday morning before I leave and just have to watch my meals that day. Bringing my Myoplex shakes for the trip there and back. Luckily my free day is on Saturday so don't have to worry about the workout or as much on the eating even though I try to only have a free meal and maybe a free snack instead of an entire free day. And then will be heading home Sunday so I can get my workout on Sunday evening. So I think I have it all planned out and should be able to stick with the plan. It will just take a little self control and a lot of commitment.
Had a great work out this morning and got to the gym right when it opened at 5am. 3 meals down and eating clean and BY THE BOOK. Hope you are all doing great and sticking to your self-promise to finish this challenge.
Hey Gang ..
I'm sooo still motivated and in this .. however I have an MRI on Monday because I have a friggen bulging disc. I haven't worked out since Monday because of my back. I had done really well on my run Monday morning, and then when doing the simplest task, something went TWANG in my lower back and i dropped to the floor in agony .. SO ... I'm still hobbling a bit, but I'm definitely functioning! I'm doing my best to keep eating clean .. but exercise is out for now while my back is healing ..
HOWEVER .. If I'm able, I will be working out as soon as I can .. SO PLEASE STAY STRONG!! I'm gonna need y'all when I'm back!!
I'll keep ya posted on my recovery!
