I have a question about my training schedule. I am up to week 4 of the B4L. I have got my diet sorted and I am enjoying the whole thing. Problem is that I work shift work. Normallly work 12 hour shifts. I would normally work 2 days and then 2 nights and probably then have 4 days off.
Because I am working 12 hour shifts I am struggling to get any training done at all on that day. I can complete 1 session on my first night shift and then Im busted for 2 days.
So I find that I am craming my cardio and weights in the same day and trying to do six days worth of training in 3 days. I am getting all my sessions completed by the end of the week but I am not getting any rest period during the days I train. And then I have 2-3 days off training due to work.
Not sure if I keep persisting, Because I am concerned that because I am not getting enough recovery time during the training days I am wasting my time.
Any advice would be great.
I think you should fit in what you can. Over cramming just increases your risk of injury, it will make you more fatigued, and in the end could end up with you giving up all together! Combing cardio and leg workout in one session is really hard! i did that once and never again. You will find time, just do what you can and try not to over do youself, your body will get too tired and won't be able to cope.
