HIIT Training

  • I did my Cardio this morning and managed 2.68 miles!! I was thinking i've got to stop Firesong catching me!!! Keep going Firesong, the first time I recorded my cardio was back in October and I did 1.8 miles, so this program definately works! Keep up the hard work.

  • Wow, Mark and Firesong! You're an inspiration! I have no idea how far I go when I'm on the treadmill, but it isn't too far. I do a walk, a speed walk, a jog, and a fast jog. Hopefully, some day, not TOO far into the future, I'll do a jog, a fast jog, a run, and a sprint. My heart beats in the 190s by the time I'm in my 19th minute, so I can't up it just yet. Will take some time. But it's nice to look forward to it. :)

  • Mark, now you are just ticking me off.  I get up to 1.45 miles today and so excited I am catching you and you go and get further in front of me.  But be careful don't get too complacent, I am still on the hunt.  And you are my goal.  *LOL*

  • Hey Sunberry, I do the same as you.  I just watch the distance as well as my speeds.  Trust me I am slow, but Mark has given me something to work towards.  My fastest speed is only 5.5 but still its good for me. I just figure Mark has a few years less than me, and a few pounds less, thats my excuse anyway.

  • You're doing great, Firesong! My fastest speed is 4.4 and my heart goes to the high 180s/low 190s. hahaha Keep up the great work! :)

  • Mark, I am hitting the gym in the morning and have you in my sites buddy.

  • Well, I finished my first complete challenge on Saturday and 2.68 miles was my best run, I suffered with a bit of a cold for my last couple of weeks and really struggled after about 15 mins but never quit!!

I began my 2nd 12 weeks today and will hit the gym in the morning to do my first cardio of it. I'm wondering if I should give the running a rest for a bit but am a bit worried about not working as hard on other cardio machines! I've seen fantastic results doing what i'm doing and started to get comments from people after week 9 and have has to buy new clothes!!

Keep chasing me firesong i'd love to see you catch me and i'd love to hit 3 miles in 20 minutes but will have to keep working to hit that!!

    Mark

  • Mark, have you thought of increasing the incline? I do that as well when I want to change intensity. I started out just doing it the whole time but now I put it in a 2 for the majority of the time and then I boost it to a 4 when I am trying to hit that 10. It won't change your distance, but it definitely changes the intensity!

  • Mark,

I have to admit I fell back quite a ways from catching you.  I too got sick around week 6 and it has taken my lungs even longer to recover than expected.  So my distance on the treadmill has suffered and I went to the elliptical for a break.  But I still see you way up there, a little spec in the distance and I am still trying to catch you.

Congrats on finishing your first challenge.   Can I ask why you arent taking an active rest between challenges?  Just curious.
