Okay, I heard a lot of bad things about citrus fruits on the forum and I can understand why many people choose to stay away from them, but on the other hand, I know that your body requires a certain amount per week. Shouldn't we be encouraging some kind of citrus throughout the week? It just doesn't seem healthy to go without...
To counter the "anti-citrus", I out one teaspoon of lemon juice in plain green tea, chilled, and drink it with dinner every day. I was always told that your body needs citrus fruits at least three times a week to balance your vit C and to help cleanse itself.
Opinions?

Katiebug-I'm not anti-citrus, I jus don't eat it 3x a week. I think maybe the concern may be from the glycemic index....you can google a pc of citrus and its GI rating, the lower the better.
I just know that the fruit is way better than the juice...

I don't think citrus fruit is bad. I'm certain it's good for you in many ways. For anyone with blood sugar issues (diabetic/hypoglycemic) you really have to watch when you eat it or what you eat it with. It will spike your blood sugar and cause issues.
I'm with Heather, not a bad choice but the sugar might do things like have you think you want even more sugar. If you aren't taking a multi-vitamin then a few citrus fruits a week might be fine. I'm talking whole fruits with all the fiber and not just juice though
Lemon juice is about 3 grams carb per ounce according to

a teaspoon would probably be less than a gram. Probably just fine for your tea if it helps you to enjoy your meal and eat clean.
Thanks for your suggestions....
