I'm a little confused about sugar alcohols and whether they are ok or bad for weight loss. I've read in a few places that they hinder weight loss (for reasons I don't pretend to understand). But I've also read they are perfectly acceptable. I even found this fantastic, thick, tasty syrup (Joseph's brand) that is sugar free but sweetened with maltitol......and it has the "Flat Belly Diet" approved endorsement on the bottle. My Atkins bars have sugar alcohols too. I love to have one with coffee on some days, but I'm trying to mostly cut those out so my diet will be primarily whole foods.
Does anyone have either good or bad weight loss experience with sugar alcohols included in thier diet?
