Okay, I have a few questions about the food that is allowed.
1. I eat a bread from Big Sky Company and it has all natural ingredients, Whole Wheat flour, water, honey, salt and yeast. 100 calories/slice, 4 g protein, 21 carbs. Is this a good bread to eat?
2. A lunch I have been eating is 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 Avocado, 4 oz Chicken Breast (cubed and cooked with garlic salt), 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes. Is this okay? How would you tweak it?
3. Is low sodium soy sauce allowed? I make a yummy stir fry with carrot, broccoli, onion, brown rice, peanut oil, and soy sauce. Is this okay?
Thanks for taking the time to help!!
Oh yeah and I also do a smoothie for breakfast sometimes, 2-3 cups spinach, 1/2 banana, 1 cup mixed frozen fruit, 1 Tbs flaxseed oil, 1 Tbs Peanut butter, 1&1/4 cup ice water.
It all seems ok for food, but you still seem to be missing 2-3 meals a day.
6 meals is an important part of the program and also just good advice period.
Time should not be an issue here either as a meal could simply be a protein.meal replacement bar.
I would suggest you add a scoop of protein to your breakfast shake as you are missing this there too.
Yeah this isn't a complete day for me, just wondering if these meals are good for BFL period. Since I am new, I am trying to figure out what is allowed that i already love to eat.
Hi,
Okay in that case, they do look pretty good. The bread you are using has the right amount of carbs, I try never to go above 20 g. Your lunch looks good and yes, you can use low sodium soy. If you check out the BFL cookbook, this is an ingredient that Bill uses.
Good luck!
And is it ok to have 1/2 an avocado at one meal?
Im a newbie too and am definitely not an expert but according to the book avacado falls under a healthy fat that you can have once a day but not a whole "portion", just a Tbsp. In the cookbook there is a yummy recipe Enchilada Soup with Avocado and it serves 8 and only uses one avacado.
Hope that helps!
Good Luck!
Beth
Add protein powder to shake as suggested, also decrease the mixed fruit to 1/2 cup instead of 1 cup. That way the 1/2 banana and 1/2 mixed fruit make for 1 carb. I always wondered what categor peanut butter falls under, maybe a good fat. I've made this same smoothie before and it's delicious.
