Does anyone do smoothies for breakfast? Are they BFL approved? An example would be 1/2 banana, 1/2 apple, 1/6 cup blackberries, 3 stems of kale, and water (I sometimes substitute with milk). I usually don't consume any protein for breakfast. Instead I consume a high density protein for mid-morning snack such as a protein bar.
landagen,
Smoothies are ok for breakfast, provided they contain the BFL recommended 1 portion protein and 1 portion carbs (fist size is the norm). So all that you have mentioned will make it more of carbs and no protein. You could instead go for
1/2 banana or small - medium apple
and
scoop of protein or 1/2 cup non fat greek yogurt with 1/2 scoop of protein (not regular yogurt)
depending upon your protein requirements. Women usually aim for 15- 20 gms per meal and men more...
BFL changed my life!
