I added teaspoons of various flavored SF /FF Jello pudding to my choclate and vanillas. Gives it a great texture too. great for the late evening shake.
I forgot to add that its the boxes of powdered mixes pudding. make sure its FF/SF.
Ok...after reading all these entries..i think I've been doing my protein shakes wrong...give me your thoughts please.
8oz mootopia fat free milk
1 small banana
4 strawberries
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Sometimes i add a teaspoon peanut butter
Too much? Too little?
The Whey Protein Powder has to be combined with a carb to be a complete meal so yes, you can use banana or any other fruit. My favorite is vanilla whey, skim milk, banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter. Peanut butter can be your healthy fat serving for the day. You can also use Fat Free pudding, skim milk and it creates a pudding that you can have as your 6th meal (dessert) This recipe and more are in the Eating for Life book.
Don't forget that milk also contains about 10 grams of protein. If you're only using milk and protein powder you'll end up with 13 carbs and 32 protein. I usually add 2 Tbls of malted milk powder to up the carbs by 10 grams. Get the Nestle original though and not the chocolate. The first ingredient in the chocolate is sugar. Same goes for Ovaltine malted milk powder. Make sure you read your ingredients.
