I have decided to start tracking what I eat and workouts on My Fitness Pal I was wondering should I go by what they suggest for how many calories I should be eating and is there a way to adjust protein, carbs and fat percentages to match more of this program, if not do you just calculate the percentages from the calories they suggest you to use if you use the calories you should be using.
Thanks
Hi there,
I too recently started using my fitness pal. You can adjust the proteins/carbs/fats. On "My Home" you will see a link to "Goals" underneath there. In here you can select "change goals" and then pick the "custom" option. I put carbs/protein at 40%, and fat at 20%. Then I backtracked the total calorie goal until I got to my bodyweight in grams of protein/carbs).....if that makes sense.
Another good place is Sparkspeople.com to track is also great! they have excercise programs and walking milage you can keep track of too.
Yes, you can adjust to what SMB suggests. If you want to friend me on there, my name is schmertnat. I can walk you through anything you might need help with. I did not use MFP for my first challenge, but use it now and love it. I don't think it is necessary for BFL, but a nice tool, nonetheless.

To put in my two cents- I found a software program online at bodytrans.com that was developed by a guy with the the BFL workouts and eating in mind. I have been using it since the beginning of the challenge and I love. I also signed up at fitness pal to use it to find calories and nutrition information about certain foods to input into the bodytrans program.
