•   Hello Everyone,

I am VERY new to BFL.  Try this is Day 2!!! I have such a problem with breakfast.  I never know what to eat.  I love sweets and fattening foods.  I like to eat breakfast sandwhiches with eggs, cheese and turkey bacon a bagel or croissant.  I know horrible!!!!  But what are some other breakfast options, cereal, oatmeal.   I'm so picky.  Please help.  I want to eat better but just don't know where to start.  I'm an emotional eater and lately I've been very stressed which has led me to eat.......  I'm 5'7 and 176 pounds.  My biggest problem is my midsection.  I am top heavy but thats not going anywhere.  I am the mother of two and my youngest just turned two last month.  I want to get rid of this tire!!!!!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you.

  • Low Fat Cottage Cheese and fruit is a good choice.  Low Fat Greek Yogurt with fruit and a packet of splenda is a good choice.  Egg whites and a piece of fruit would be another choice.

  • I love to eat 3 egg whites (scrambled) in a whole wheat tortilla with a pinch of hot sauce.

Or, Old fashioned oatmeal (not flavored) with cottage cheese and a packet of Splenda

Or, egg whites and whole wheat toast

Or 1/2 serving oatmeal, 1/2 serving yogurt, 1 scoop protein powder (your choice what flavor- all work great!)

  • I never used to eat breakfast. My first meal used to be around 2:00pm. Needless to say this was an adjustment for me to eat 6 meals a day and start out with one in the morning. Due to my resistance, I am pretty consistent with having an EAS AdvantEDGE carb control RTD shake plus yogurt for breakfast. It's easy and ready because I am not very coherent in the am. Getting better though :-D

  • I am just wondering .... if a person works out in the morning, should cottage cheese not be eaten at the END of the day as it is slowly digested in the body, and helping muscle growth as you sleep, and you would want a quicker protein to get to your muscles after a workout like whey so it can begin to repair those worked and torn muscle fibers?

  • Either source of protein is fine, I was just offering up suggestions for things that she might find paletable for breakfast.  LF cottage cheese is certainly the best before bed, but there is nothing to say it can't be eaten throughout the day as well.

  • True Champster. I guess the more I get into BFL, the more I think about stuff like that. I dont mean to confuse.

  • Cream of wheat with protien powder (I like vanilla, yummy!), a splash of 2% milk and almond slivers.

I look forward to breakfast every day because of this little cocktail of goodness!

Every once in a while I mix it up with a breakfast burrito (egg, lettuce, ff cheese, low fat bean paste and some salsa)

It makes me feel like I'm cheating every morning.

I love yogurt too. I eat a cup and wonder what all the fuss about frozen treats are. (I've never been into sugary foods though...)
