Maybe this should have gone in "The Kitchen" forum but here it is...
Rye bread is not on any list I can find BUT whole grain carbs are listed everywhere. So, is rye bread okay? Also wondered about a 9 whole grain seed bread?
Or is it only Whole Wheat bread like the list says?

In looking at the nutritional facts, rye bread- 1 slice
83 calores, 15g carb and 211 mg of sodium. Not great counts.
You really need to look at the ingredients and the nutritional facts on the package. Start comparing to others and you will learn alot. Watch the first 5 ingredients in breads. The following things are bad in the first five: bleached, enriched, sugar, brown sugar, fructose, etc.
Great question!

okay, I compare that info to my 9 grain seed bread and 100% Whole Grain Whole Wheat
Seed bread serving is 1/12 of loaf(I have to slice it and my servings are slightly smaller) 160 calories w/30 from fat, 270mg sodium, 27g carb w/2 fiber and 3 sugar, 6g protein, 3.5g fat NO saturated fat or trans fat
Whole wheat bread serving is 2 slices(what I would likely use)130 calories w/15 from fat, 250mg sodium, 25g carb w/3 fiber and 4 sugar, 7g protein, 1.5g fat NO saturated or trans fat
It is close, but the whole BFL philosophy for eating is as much nutrition in every calorie as possible that means no more seed bread!
Plus I just noticed the tricky bakers! It is marketed as whole grain and seeds BUT first ingredient is ENRICHED wheat flour, that is not whole wheat bread like I thought...
Thanks for the help!
