Hi BFLers,
I wanted to get an idea from you guys what supplement should i take aside from the myoplex drink and bar that I take to maximize my results and work out? A little background; I am 5'11, I started my BFL first challenge with the weight of 210 lbs. and came out at 192 lbs. so I was happy, not just on what I saw on the scale but what I see in the mirror as muscles started to come out and I got firmer.
I didn't took a break after the first challenge thinking that will slow down my momentum so i jump in right away to the second challenge, I dont know if that was the right thing to do but I slid back a bit on the first 5 weeks as I stopped tracking what i eat and my work out on paper - I felt I know them on top of my head so i should be good, I still ate and work out the BFL way but I have to admit that not tracking it on paper makes you lose momentum and makes it easy to slide, miss on a work out, miss on eating on time and sometimes eating up bad food, to make the long story short I realized the error and corrected it on the 8th week and been consistent since then. I just wrapped up my 9th week yesterday (Saturday 9/26/10) and I weight in at 194 lbs. - yup I never lost a single lb. since the first challenge which was a little disappointing but I was compensated by noting that even if my weight didnt go down, my body is tighter and I feel more confident as I compare before and after pictures.
Anyway, my ultimate goal is between 175-180 lbs. and be really lean for my fav sports(basketball) so I am thinking of adding something to my diet to "speed up" the process, I heard about so many products fat burners like Lipo6, hydroxicut and a slew of other products out there, I wanted to get an opinion from my fellow BFLers first who actually do the walking rather than the talking :)
I appreciate all your help and more success to y'all
Cheers,

Kakashi,
First of all congratulations on the success of your first challenge!
Taking a break after a challenge, (taking active rest) is a very good idea. The body and mind need time to recover. A 12 week challenge is not easy and a well-deserved break gives you time to prepare. Otherwise you risk burning out or finishing your second challenge with lackluster results. If you search "active rest" on this site there are some good posts.
As for weight loss in the second challenge. I lost 21lbs in my first challenge. I am now in week 12 of my second challenge. During my second challenge my body fat had gone from 17% to 9% and I am down yet another pant size yet I have only lost 4lbs! The scale is not a good indicator of success.
As far as supplements, I would call the EAS 1 - 800 number for great advice tailored to you and your goals. I will say, and this is just my opinion, supplements are just tools. They do not replace 100% clean eating and working out beyond perceived limits. I wouldn't look to supplements as a miracle. The are there to 'supplement' your hard work and dedication to the BFL plan.
Dedicate yourself to the BFL plan of eating and fitness and you will get the results you seek.
All the best
Orrin
It is not a 12-week challenge if you jump right into another one; it then becomes a 24-week challenge. Your body really needs that time to rest in between challenges. Take care of yourself.

Hi Orrin, I appreciate the advice, the weighing scale is not the best way to measure my progress, so i followed your advice and measured body fat. Today I just went to GNC and bought a body fat caliper, I measured my body fat and I am at 21% not too thrilled but at least I have a baseline now to measure against my progress. I helped out my siblings to check their body fat as well as they are planning to follow me in the Body for Life challenge, so I am happy about it.
Regarding supplements I will call them up this week and get a solid advice on supplements, again thank you, all the best as well for your 2nd challenge and thanks for taking time to help other people like myself. You're a good man! :)
BDMom, now that I think about it, it would have been easier if I took a break after my first challenge, but regardless i will finish what i started at the best of my abilities, lesson learned. Thank you for the advice, I can relay that to my siblings when they decided to start their first challenge. Thanks mom! :)
