Hi there. I just turned 44 years-old and have been an active exerciser my whole life, however, have never achieved my dream - becoming as fit as possible for my build. I have done enough to basically maintain my weight and look better than average in clothes, but know I fall short in strength and swimsuit appearance. For at least 25 years, I have dreamed about achieving confidence in my physical appearance or by winning some kind of fitness challenge. After hitting 44 earlier this month, I am determined to do so. I want to go from a skinny "fat" to very toned. Do any of you have input as to whether or not you think this is doable for a 44 year-old female?
My2Suns!
This is TOTALLY doable! I turn 43 in March...check out my profile...I started BFL last Christmas and since then I've done 3 challenges and lost 50# and almost 37 inches. Went from a 38% body fat to 15.1%!
So....if you want it bad enough and go by the book and honor your self promises to yourself, you WILL succeed!
Best wishes for YOUR SUCCESS!! =)

Uh....44? That's still young, right????
Check out DebMo's profile; she is quite the inspiration!!
I, too, turn 43 in February. I finished my first challenge last month, and will start challenge 2 tomorrow. You can check out my profile, if you would like as well.
You can do this!!!!

Thanks, Natalie! You are an inspiration as well! Keep up the great work!! =)
Thanks first friend!
It is more than doable; it's achieveable! Take a look at BDMom, Debbie, myself and the Champions, (in our age group) we are all in our 40's. Age does not determine your destination. You do! You possess the power within to be anything you want to be! Go for it girlfriend!
The first step is to prepare. Start cleaning our your fridge. Map out your exercise routine. Read Body-For-Life everyday. Pack your fridge with clean food and get your mind ready for a lift altering experience. Hold on tight and go for it!!
I'm rooting for you!

Thank you for the wonderful words of encouragement. I am going to start today.
My2Suns: I am starting my second challenge today, and there are many who are starting their 1st, 2nd, 3rd. We are on a thread that reads, "why wait until NY, let's start our challenge Dec. 27th." Come join us and we will be right beside you every step of the way. I am not sure I would have finished my challenge without the support of the wonderful friends I made on this forum.
This is absolutely doable! I did this starting at age 47 a few weeks shy of my 48th birthday and I'm still doing it! Jump on board, you'll be very happy with what happens during your journey. :-)
Love you some you...PERSEVERE!
Absolutely it's doable, if you are willing to do the work. There are a bunch of us here in our 40's, in fact I'll be turning 48 in the spring and I'm in the best shape of my adult life and loving every minute of it.
Jump on the bus and do it!!

Good luck...you're in the right place
41 here, chiming in!! I started C3 today!
I think you'll find quite a lot of successful 40-somethings on this forum! If you research human development at all, you'll find it makes sense for 40-somethings to have the drive in mid life, have the mental capacity/strength to stick to it and to make it happen...that said...no better time than NOW!! Good luck!!
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten!
My FOURTH Challenge: May 23-Aug. 14, 2011. Began First BFL Challenge on June 21, 2010
It's quite doable... Check out the 2009 Champion Sherman Goodman's success story. He won at age 70!
That should be Sherman Goodrich... sorry about the name mess up.
Also I'm 38 and completed the challenge with respectable results and have been able to maintain them since completing my challenge... so it's doable at any age.
