I am in my week 9 of my first challenge.
I have been wondering about all of the excess skin I have? Will it ever tighten up or do I just put up with it (or tummy tuck)?
Before starting BFL I went from 198lbs to 138lbs by doing Weight Watchers and had "some" excess skin, but since on WW I could eat anything within reason as long as I stayed in my points, they still allowed for some sugar and fat...therefore, while I was smaller, I still had that pudgy look. I am now eating clean and excercising regularly......and have reduced my weight (so far to 124lbs) and more importantly, fat percentage (so far 27% to 21%). So, now I have quite a bit of excess skin around my middle....right where my abs will be showing (hopefully!!)...but my skin is loose and wrinkled there...covering it up.
So, I was wondering if any of those who have completed this challenge can give me some insight?
Congrats on the great weight loss!
I'm not sure what the answer to your question is cause I have the same problem; those abs are right there ready to peek out but having 3 kids...I'm also wondering how that loose skin is going to tighten up!
I'm sure the correct answer is "patience"... :)
DebMO :0) Blessed to be a Blessing...
I am sorry to say this, but I have heard the answer and I did not like it. If it's an inch or so, revved up muscle can fill the "gap" behind the loose skin. If muscle growth can not compensate for it, i.e., the loose skin is way much more than possible muscle growth, there is no way to fix this except cosmetic surgery.
