5K SUCCESS!!

  • Woohoo! Awesome!

I have done 5k events before but only walking, you ran the race!

    What was this 5k for?

  • hey Kitty-Thanks! And thanks again to everyone for their support and congrats! Without this program I never would have ever dreamed of doing this!

I ran the race for a Relay for Life event, one of my hs friends is a *** cancer survivor and crossing that finish line for her was amazing!

Kitty-I would set one of your goals to run in one, the experience is awesome! :)

  • Oh DebMO

I'm jumping up and down for you!!  I'm so happy for you girl!  You even made me tear up!  I have NEVER ever ran in my life and one of my goals is to run around my block before the end of my challenge!!  You have just inspired me more!!  I'm so proud of YOU!!  WOOHOO for DebMO :)

    Blessed by Him,

    Michelle'

  • Michelle'-

I'm so glad I've inspired you! When you first came on the boards (I haven't seen you in awhile by the way!), I had read your story and you inspired me...I told myself on that treadmill one morning that if Michelle' can have that goal of running around the block (and I envision you doing that!) then I can get my HIIT done on this dang treadmill!

You are an inspiration and I love your positivity about life!

Hope all is going well with you! Do keep in touch!

    Have a great day! :)

  • Funny thing MO: In the paper yesterday, they have the announcement for the 1/2 Marathon to be held in September here - the 2nd Annual. It was May 4th. I GUESS PEOPLE TRAIN FOR THESE - lol. Not like me winging it last year and almost unhinging. I will go in it, but for the 5K this time. And I will run like you. :) Remember I am marbless.

  • Congratulations!  I am right there with you.  Before learning the BFL way, I couldn't even run for one minute on a treadmill and now I can finish a 5K like it's just today's workout and move on.  Awesome feeling!  Something about the HIIT method taught me to push through my weak moments and how to "recover" while still moving.  Never knew I had it in me.

Just ran my first 5K on 3/14, a few weeks before starting this Challenge.  Ran another 4/24, about a month into the Challenge....boy, was it easier!  I could feel my strength like never before....dropped 4 minutes off my time in that one month and the only running I was doing was HIIT 20 mins plus an extra mile sometimes.  Planning another one for Mother's Day and another one 6/6....I'm loving it because it's another layer of accountability for me....if I know a 5K is coming up, I can't slack!

I share in your excitement and I congratulate you on your accomplishment!
