Guts

  • Is the bulky-bloated-lower-stomach-section the last thing to get rid off when doing the challenge?

    Thx

  • Great question!  i am 4 weeks in and I am noticing definition in my arms, shoulders, and legs.  Nothing on the not so lovely love handles...  When do you start to notice the change?

  • I have found, sorry to say that the stomach fat and defination appears latest of all development and it is directly linked as well to your meal habits and nutrional input as well. Ask the Champs and I believe they will concur on this. SOOOO don't be disappointed but KEEP MOVING FORWARD in your efforts in exercise and eating CLEAN (No Junk  and watch those FREE days)

  • Oh no doubt! Every area of my body is more defined than my abs. It's annoying as heck. My upper body and legs seem disproportionately leaner than my lower abs and flank. The good news is, I've finally reached a point where I gotta lose fat there 'cause that's the only place I'm storing fat! Just keep plugging away. You'll get ripped, it just takes awhile.

  • oh thanks for the info

  • Usually the trouble spots are the last to go, and some don't really go, they just shrink and become less noticeable.  I have never been able to get that great ab definition, even though my body fat and weight are lower than they've ever been.  Just keep plugging along, and enjoy all the amazing changes your body is going through.  All that definition everywhere else is a great thing!!  Celebrate the changes, and try not to focus on the negatives!

  • I agree with BDMom. Defined abs are very difficult to achieve. I am on my 3rd challenge, and have finally lost my love handles and am starting to see definition in my abs. I attribute it to 2 things that I have done different this challenge.....increasing my strength workouts to 4 days per week (2 upper and 2 lower) and eating totally clean 100% of the time. I have always read that chiseled abs are made in the kitchen and I totally believe it. I have always worked out pretty intense.....running marathons, teaching group fitness classes, inconsistent weight training...however, it wasn't until I totally changed my nutrition that I started to see definition in my abs and core. I follow the Eat Clean Diet, which is similar to BFL but a little more strict when it comes to food choices. The book is by Tosca Reno and is a GREAT resource. I highly recommend it. It was a break through for me.

Good luck!!! Be patient....progress not perfection!!!

  • Thanks to all for your responses.  Yes, it is sooooooooo difficult to get rid off this bulky stomach and the worst is the food challenge, why, why is the food the hardest to change???  I would try my best and it is important to me, because I do want to look and feel good this summer.  Anyways, just as a suggestion, I think we should call them the HATE handles no the love handles, because actually nobody loves them...lol

Thanks to all and have a great day!

  • Just my own 2 cents.....it's Murphy's law, the area you want to loose the fat from first is always the last place to go.....
