Need help quick! - Week 11 weight loss plateau

  • Please help me get to my goal!

I am within 10 days of completing my first BFL challenge in over 10 years.  I sat around and got fat for 10 years until I decided to get back on the wagon.  Am I glad I did!

The problemI need to lose 3 more pounds of scale weight by the end of next week (10 days).  I set a personal challenge goal to lose 20 pounds of scale weight during these 12 weeks.  This is the end of week 11 for me (it's Friday).  For the past 2 weeks and so far this week, I'm stuck at 17 pounds lost.  No matter what I do, I can't seem to break through this plateau.  What can I do?

OK, before you all begin to tell me that it's not about scale weight, it's about body fat %, muscle gain, and how absolutely great I'm looking and feel...

    You must know this:

I'm stubborn!  I set some specific personal challenge goals for these past 12 weeks.  I will feel like a failure if I don't lose these 3 pounds off the scale within 10 days.  Now, I realize I'm not a failure on this.  (You ain't gonna believe how much I've transformed (both physically and mentally) in 11 short weeks).  During one of those weeks I had the flu.  However, I still tried to workout until my wife absolutely forbade me to continue till I got well.  I lost 4 workouts because of that.

I'm trying everything I can think of - less carbs, more protien, more sleep, more water.  I realize I'm overly worrying myself on this but I've worked so hard I'd hate to get to the end only to say I "almost" made it.  I've been doing that this whole challenge by setting workout goals that left me unable to lift that last repetition or keep concious till I got off the treadmill - ha ha but rather true.  I've worked very hard.  I've eaten very clean (and am better for it).

Thus, HOW CAN I TELL MY METABOLISM BURNERS TO TURN BACK ON AND GIVE ME THOSE 3 POUNDS?

    Signed,

  • RedDawg - I know you don't want to hear this but it's just numbers.  How many sizes have you dropped since doing BFL?  Although I was a size 6 when I finished one of my challenges, I still weighed 147lbs.  My goal was to reach 145lbs because that is what I weighed when I used to wear a size 8.  Do you see something here?  It doesn't really matter.  I was smaller anyway. :-)  Your overall goal appears that you want to me smaller.  So pay close attention to the progress you have made and not so much on that number.   Remember this, stress doesn't help, so relax and keep on keeping on.  You still have 10 days to go.  Just my 2 cents. :-)
