JoeD still here and starting my 2nd week. First one went great! Legs are sore from LBWO, but otherwise no problems, cravings, temptations.
Cheers to week !!
Great to hear from ya Gypsy. Glad you enjoyed the movie event and your free day.
Cheers JoeD. Thanks for popping in to give an update. Those sore legs will be rock hard by week 12.
On hitting the 10, is that a 10 per set or for each body part? I am still trying to get this down so I can do it right. LOL
fine2008, when doing your weights the 10 is the intensity for your very last set on each body part. Here is an example:
(Your weights will be different)
12 Reps at 10 lbs Intensity Level 5 easy to knock out
10 Reps at 15 lbs Intensity Level 6 a bit harder to do, but still manageable
8 Reps at 20 lbs Intensity Level 7 starts to get more difficult to get to the last rep
6 Reps at 25 lbs Intensity Level 8 it takes much effort to get the last rep
12 Reps at 15 lbs Intensity Level 9 notice you lowered the weight for this one but did 12 Reps
Now you switch exercises still focusing on Chest
Chest Flyes while still laying on bench
12 (or more) Reps at 15 lbs Intensity Level 10 just do them until you can't possibly do another.
If you consistently can't get to the stated number of reps for each intensity level lower your weights. Likewise if it seems too easy, raise your weights.
If you don't have the BFL book consider borrowing one from the library. The intensity scale is also described in the official challenge kit which you may download from this site.
As I'm in Australia I pretty much complete my day before you guys even wake up lol but while you were all sleeping I did my cardio this morning and pushed it up a tiny bit on my speed. Definately feel like im getting thinner now feel so good at the mo
"The future will be made up of the present. By taking good care of the present, we take good care of the future." Thich Nhat Hanh
Today was tough, didn't sleep great last night. Waking up with hot flashed, it's like the gym in my sleep, LOL. But I am very proud of myself, I Did Not fall back into my old pattern of oh well, I'm too tired. I pushed through it and actually had my best workout yet. I think I'm on the right track this time:)
Hey everyone! Just wanted to do a quick check in. So far, things are moving along well. I woke up too late to go the gym this morning; had a heavy day of travel. Speaking of which, I had a great nutrition day yesterday despite the travel. Overall, things are well. I will take more time to check in with everyone tomorrow.
Have a great cardio day tomorrow!
no time for gym today, have 200 thousand things to do to get my family ready to go to the big Wedding weekend which include a new headlight in my van and getting my hair done as well as getting a wedding gift...I will stick to the nutrition though! taking 8 lb dumbells with me as we are going by van...
everyone else have a great weekend!
Good morning to everyone!
Had a great, but exhausting, Zumba class last night. Even though the air conditioning was on I still worked up quite a sweat. Got up a little bit late today but still made it to the gym. Had a good cardio workout although I don't think my legs have recovered yet from yesterday's LBWO. I have a meeting at the Reading Department today where lunch is being provided BUT since I don't know what is on the menu I packed my own and plan on sticking to it (let's hope anyway). I really do hate meetings!
Enjoy your day! It is much cooler here today...thank god...hit mid 90's yesterday. That was a little bit TOO much!
Good Morning 517ers. I hope everybody works it really hard today. Drink up that water and eat clean.
Sounds great TLC. Each time you refuse those bad habits the stronger you get.
Good morning TLC I do understand the hot flashes, I was fighting them all night long. So tired this morning and not feeling good with a sinus infection from my alergies, but I am still going to the gym and sweat even more. Covering my mouth and just probably do 10-10, which should make up for my minute minutes. I know it will have me sweating and heart rate going up. Hope you feel better. BTW do you take anything for your hot flashes?
"ok, this is what is happening. I just wanted to be sure since I have never completed the 12 weeks, and wanted to do them right. Yeah me!!! Thanks a bunch JamesK.
First, I wanted to say "Thank You!" for your service in the ARMY!
I was an ARMY wife for 14 yrs and my son is now an Airborn Combat Engineer in the ARMY.
Words from my son Anthony: "It makes me proud to know that I am a soldier and that my purpose is strong. If it was not for men and women wearing the same greens as me, war could be on our very streets, but as long as we always defend freedom and keep the fight outside our lands, there will always be a place for all Americans to grow up safe and pursue there dreams. I'm proud to be a soldier and I support my brothers and sisters in arms."
I'm so proud of him!
We were stationed in Germany when all our soldiers (except the MP's) were deployed to Iraq for Desert Storm. While all our troops were in Iraq, all their families left in Germany were briefed on our new lifestyle. We lived in fear of terrorist attacks. We were told to keep a very low profile, to not draw attention to the fact that we were Americans. My children's elementary school was locked down, only 1 entrance was open & used while armed MP's were posted throughout. Fear of our children playing in playgrounds for we were told that their could be booby trapped toys anywhere. Fear of getting in our cars because we were told that we must check for bombs before getting in (we had to check under the hood, the trunk & under the car) We were told to stay away from places where Americans normally go. It was very scary! It is NOT a way to live! Our wonderful military (all volunteers) keep America safe & Free. After having a taste of life without freedom, something I will never take for granted again, I support our troops all over the world, and give thanks to them for protecting our freedom! God Bless all of you!
So, I would like to offer care packages to you to help you on your BFL journey. Just let me know if you need anything (myploex, BFL book, anything).
Stay strong and again... Thank You!
