Vander...-25 degrees?? OH MY GOSH!! Let us know if you need some back-up! haha
Andy...we should just think of our before photos as the 'wounds' and our after photos as the 'scars' that were left where copious amounts of healing and growth took place. The scars will always be there to remind us of how far we have come...but where the wounds once were is now only strength and endurance. :) Hugz!
j_gilmer...hop right back on that wagon with the rest of us, buddy! How did you do in your first three challenges? What are some of the tips and coping skills you acquired that helped you to make it to the finish line? I will be doing back-to-back challenges all throughout 2014, with one or two week intervals in-between of 'active rest'. I have a high school reunion coming up in August and plan to arrive there fit and toned! POW! lol This change, for me, is exactly that--for life. January of 2015 will come, as the following year always does, and I will still be here fighting for it! Oh, if the Good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise, that is! haha
Alright, Team Renegade! Pre-game preparations have officially been kicked off. Tomorrow and Sunday I will be doing chicken, yams, broccoli, Omega 3 eggs, tilapia, and thawing lots of yummy berries. I'll also be portioning out cottage cheese in the meal prep and pairing some protein portions with greek yogurt. Hubs brought home steel cut oats today, so I need to figure out what protein other than egg whites to use with oats for Meal 1 during the week. What goodies is everyone else coming up with?
I have chocolate and vanilla Myoplex Light on standby. Those were the only two flavors at Walmart. Does anyone use the Myoplex Strength formula?
My Myoplex, Betagen and Phos HP just arrived today! This is getting real. Meal prep is pretty easy for me. I have a pretty high metabolism so lots of "good" fats and proteins (I eat "man salads") help with the production of T and switch the body into fat burning, muscle building mode. HIIT and heavy lifting with some meditation and positive body posture exercises also help the T. Monday, here I come.
I am in! I have completed two challenges about 10 years ago. Since then, life has happened, and I have fallen apart. Looking forward to improving my mental and physical health. Fat and depressed is not living. It is simply surviving. I have about 70 lbs to lose.
Welcome, lazz! I believe that you are feeling as broken as I am. No worries, there is only up to go from here. Are you gearing up this weekend? :)
Hey group - I hope you don't mind me also coming along as I am also starting this Monday.
Two year ago I did three BFL cycles back –to-back (well the third one was pretty sloppy).
I lost 36 pounds net and built muscle. It felt great.
Now I have lost most of the muscle and I am up 23 pounds from my very low BFL weight about 2 years ago.
To be honest, I don't feel as good as I did in the past, both mentally or physically.
I know it has also impacted my family. I run a New Years Resolution run every year with my daughter when I came back from the charity run this time, my wife said that I have not been this happy all day in a long time (must be the endorphins)> She was right actually. I want that back!
Anyway, I too will start Monday officially and I cannot wait to get that happy good feeling back.
I also cannot wait to make some great new friend with Andy, MK-Wildcherry, Shigley, Lass, Jimmieb, VanderB (-16 here a couple days ago but not you cold temps),j_gilmer 1979, JillC, goatlady, Lance Teo, joe kernan, Huneymonster_UK, Cinderella517,StudleyHunk, clairey, solith,mwade78, alimoffit, and others who chose to join the group and take us to our goals. [Sounds like a Mickey Mouse roll call]!
This is gonna be a great journey in T minus 48 hours till lift off.
Hang on tight friends; it is going to be awesome
I am not going to tell you that it will be easy ... I am going to tell you that it will be worth it!
O my!! I forgot how much I really hate before pics!! It's bad enough seeing it on the scale, but a whole different horrible thing with a camera. I've read BFL several times and followed the program, but never actually registered for the challenge. I'm really looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!
looks like you are all gearing up and ready. i was supposed to have started already but it turns out that I will start with you on monday. i had surprise guests this week for my birthday and it just seems better to start fresh with you all. there is so much enthusiasm here i'm really looking forward to the challenge. let's do this!
this is my firs bfl challenge I plan on starting this Monday also.
I am getting excited to start BLF on Monday. I can see my dream body in my mind:). I know it's going to be hard but in the end it will be all worth it!
run4life- You have the huge advantage of knowing it works for you based on previous results. Hang your hat, on that it will will work again. That should give you the confidence to stay on track and be successful. Do not be ashamed that you fell off the wagon. It happens to the best of us. Even Bill Philips ended up way out of shape after an accident and a surgery in 2011 and he his now in perhaps the best shape of his life. Just keep going forward and know your results will be great!
Hi Mary Kate,
I'd love to join you. My start date is officially today (I like Sun through Fri with my free day on Saturday). Let's stay in touch!
