I am so very impressed with those of you getting your tushies out of bed at 4:30/5:00. I set my alarm every day for 4:45 AM and turn it off every day. It is not such a big deal right now becuase I have nothing going on in the evening this week, but I really do need to get back in to the morning habit so when things come up in the evening I am not railroaded.
Having a great week so far. Had an awesome LB workout on Monday and I am very very sore today. Carido was good yesterday. I actually made it through a BFL style Cardio, with a few changes along the way and only had to jump off the treadmill 3 times to cough my brain out. I was very pleased with myself! Now I have some sort of base line to improve on. I also did an evening walk while watching Biggest Loser. Just for FUN!
I finally took my pictures yesterday. Good grief....... that is all I have to say.
I have a kick butt UB workout planned for this evening and will probably do some extra walking. I really am far behind on my cardio with this chest cold still hanging on so I figure any extra walking I do can't hurt.
Andy~ So for weights, do you do the same LB workout for 4 weeks then and then switch it up for the next 4? I alternate every time, but maybe I should just be doing the same workout for 4 weeks and then swith for 4 and then switch back for the last 4. Very cool that you have your wife to do this with. A couple that works out together, stays together!!! :)
Lila~ HANG IN THERE GIRL!!!! Progress not perfection is the name of this game. Are you doing better than you were before? Then you are doing awesome!
Alimoffitt~ I will turn 47 in June this year and I also have a lot of regrets. Wasted years..... so many, so sad. But we are not wasting any more time. That is what matters. 47 will be our best year yet! Bring it on!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful BFL Day! Share your passion with someone today.....
alimoffitt, you can't go back and change the previous 47 years of your life but you can make the next 47 years of your life the most awesome ever and you're doing it with this challenge! Every day gives us the opportunity if we choose to be whoever/whatever we want to be. We all make mistakes, we all have setbacks, we all think back and wonder what if...
So remember IT IS WORTH IT and most importantly YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Good morning TEAM RENAGADE! WOW past the half way point for the week!!! WAY TO GO! 5AM cardio was great this morning, I still feel the burn.
Hey VanderB- So I decided with all of my exercises for UBWO and LBWO I am sticking with the same lifting routines for 4 weeks at a time. Every workout I try to improve on the previous workout. For example my upper body workout is 12, 10, 8,6 reps of barbell bench press then I do my two sets of 12 doing incline barbell bench press. After 4 weeks I will switch the exercise and choose maybe the next 4 weeks do dumbbell flyes and dumbbell bench press. Every 4 weeks re-doing my entire workout routine. I chose most of my exercises from the weigh training guide on the site bodyforlife.com/.../weight-training. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Have a great day team!
Kind of quiet around here...... I hope everyone is hanging in there.
It's a cold and blustery day here in MN. Looks like the frozen Tundra out there!
I had another crappy night of sleep so around 1:30 I turned my 4:30 AM alarm off. Eventually I will be feeling better and able to get a good nights sleep and the AM alarm will not be so daunting.
I have a good day of eating planned and will do my cardio as soon as I get home from work. I uped it just a bit. We will see how my lungs hold out. Should be another good BFL day!
Andy~ Thanks for the info. I think I have done BFL so many times over the years and modified it as I went I was thinking I switched my workout each time I did that body part. I am happy to do the same workout for the 4 weeks. It will be easier to keep track of what I need to increase. That means I will get 8 weeks of Squats and Lunges out of this challenge. YES!!! (Did I just say that???)
Have a great BFL day!
PushThePace ~ Thank you...I will choose to succeed and stay focused.
Hello... hello... hellooo.... It is getting very quiet in here! Come on team shout it out!! 2 more workouts then week 2 is done! How does that feel!!! massive progress way to go everyone. I am enjoying my night time snack and prepping for tomorrows LBWO. Have a great night everyone.
Had some yogurt and cottage cheese for my M6 before. Didn't think I'd ever like the taste of cottage cheese but I have to say mixing it with yogurt was really good! Drinking water is getting so much easier with each passing day. Haven't had a soda since I started and don't even miss it.
Make sure you hit your 10's tomorrow!
Happy Friday team RENAGADE! We made it!!! One more workout and week 2 is complete!
LBWO this morning was great. I think I need to pay closer attention to the rest period between reps and sets. My workout was only about 35 minutes… seems a little short. But my wife and I killed it. I bumped a few weights and for sure felt my 10’s! This has been another great week eating. My first challenge that was really hard for me. I just need to really stay focused on my free day…
Have a great day everyone!
Happy Friday!!!! So happy and to have a long weekend makes it even better.
Normally I would think of a long weekend as possibly more damaging but I am looking forward to really getting stuff done on Monday and having more time to work out and get my week order. Yea!
I'm going to sum up my week now as I doubt I will be online this weekend.
Things I did well this week:
I finally took my before pictures! AUGH!!!
I got all my workouts in and some extra cardio (walking to make up for chest cold and crappy cardio), I drank 1 gallon of water daily
I ate clean and best of all..... NO ALCOHOL all week. I am typically a nightly glass of wine (or more) drinker. This was a big accomplishment for me. Especially with my lack of sleep all week. Something a cocktail would have probably taken care of.
Things I can do better:
Get my workouts done in the MORNING! I really need to sleep through the night and I am still up (out of bed) coughing at least a half a dozen times or more in the night. If I can just kick this cough, I can get up in the AM to workout.
Plan my weekend a little better and make sure I get all my water in on Saturday and Sunday.
My cardio needs improvement but that will come with time.
Mentally I am right where I need to be. I am not worried about the scale and do not care if it moves or not. I know that what I am doing is the right thing and no matter what, if I keep going, eventually the fat will melt away. I am not going to let myself get obsessed with numbers and measurments. I know healthy eating and exercise is the way to succeed and of course, perserverence. I am doing everything right and it will only get better with time.
I am thankful for those of you still around and full of support!
Have a wonderful weekend all. Eat Clean, Train Hard and be good to someone who needs it.
i am still here although one week behind you guys. i have hit all of my workouts hard this week. i can barely walk from LBWO yesterday but hit the cardio hard today, anyway. bethanne, i think your last paragraph is soooooo important. I get discouraged about numbers on the scale and then get depressed and fall off the wagon. But what is important is that every single workout counts and every good eating/drinking decision is progress. we are stringing them all together and changing habits for a healthy lifestyle. We will succeed! progress, not perfection.
have a great day, everyone!
Hey Group looks like everyone for the most part is hanging in there and doing well.
I know it is a little quiet now on the thread…everyone must be working it hard !
I know some have had some struggles and I think that is normal for lifestyle changing programs. There will be times....
You just have to forget about the past setbacks and move on.
Which brings me to my favorite subject, ...ME ;-) the king of setbacks.
I had a week long business trip...blustery Wisconsin.
No problem. Done those before while on BFL. While my behavior on these trips is usually not perfect they are OK and close to on tract. It is all about the preplanning and working the plan.
So I planned to go to a hotel that I have been too before with a pretty good workout center.
Upon arrival I noticed that the hotel is under complete renovation and the workout room is out of commission. Not much around to transfer to so I was stuck and I did not bring any cold weather workout gear (e.g., thermals to run in near zero weather).
So that is my setback...no real workouts for this past week.
My solution is to pretend that last week did not exist and re-set the program to join clairey a week back behind the pack. Keep going strong group and for my next travel trip I am going to Google hotel room workouts.
I am not going to tell you that it will be easy ... I am going to tell you that it will be worth it!
Two weeks down and I'm 6 lbs down! More importantly though is not the weight lost as this is an arbitrary number but rather it is the feeling I have. I feel so much lighter, energetic and alive than I did 2 weeks ago. I am getting more and more into this groove of eating right and working out that I feel like I haven't even been doing the program close to 100% yet but have still been seeing positive results. Instead of getting down when I don't do something right I just keep telling myself focus on progress, not perfection. These past 2 weeks I've missed a workout here and there, have snuck in some unauthorized foods when I shouldn't but I haven't beaten myself up about it. Before I would've just said "oh well I blew it, might as well go all out and enjoy myself the rest of the day." If I missed a workout I would've said "damn blew it, better start over next Monday!" But no it's always focus on progress, not perfection. Focus on progress, not perfection.
Have a great weekend team and enjoy your free days tomorrow, you've earned them!
Hello, My Lovelies! :D Everyone is doing so awesome! It was confirmed Wednesday that I am going to be having surgery and will be down for 4-6 weeks. :( My pre op is on the 22nd. I sort of knew it was coming. I won't be able to work out but will still be here right alongside everyone else eating clean and making positive changes. Are we ready for free day #2? :D:D
Good evening team RENEGADE! Thank you all for posting your progress and challenges. Congratulations on finishing week 2!
I had a great week. I definitely hit my 10’s almost every workout. I love how I am feeling and think I am doing really well with my eating. I am feeling great. Tomorrow is the day that will show how the hard work is transforming me. I am really excited!
VanderB- Thank you for your post. I like the things you did well, and things you can do better. You have a great focus and strategy. I cant wait to cross the finish line with you!
Clairey- you are doing great and you are totally right progress is our journey not perfection! Keep rocking!
Run4life – You have a great attitude. You could not have done anything different. I give you an A+ for effort. I will commit to 1 extra week to this challenge to keep you and Clairey company. If you two stick it out I am with ya!
PushThePace- 6POUNDS!! Way to go! That is awesome! Your hard work is paying off.
MK-Wildcherry- OMG! I am sorry to hear about your surgery on the 22. But wish you the best of luck! Thoughts and prayers are with you and hope you have a speedy recovery!
Good morning TEAM!
I have not been posting due to my schedule but I am still here and getting ready to rock my WEEK 3 - UBWO this morning.
I had a great week with food and workouts and I am happy to say that as of Thursday last week, I am down 5.2 pounds! woohoo! Yesterday I enjoyed my free day (complete with two slices of pizza and homemade lasagna for dinner...I guess I have been missing mozzarella!). I'd like to say something about this very special day..
When I had completed challenges in the past, I would NEVER weigh in the day after a free day. I would enjoy the day and get right back in the saddle. Typically, after 2 or 3 days into the new week of clean eating and hard workouts, I would feel a big change in my body, whether seeing it on the scale or feeling it in my clothes. I believe this phenomenon is due to the FREE DAY. Bill Phillip's opinion is that your body needs a "good feed" once a week to confuse itself, since you are restricting fat and calories all week. It will help kick start your metabolism when you embark on your next week. I know it may not feel right, and some of you may feel guilty and maybe even a little "puffy" at the start of your next week - but it works!! Not to mention the emotionall boost you can get when you allow yourself to have what you want.
I know most of you will have a free day today and I hope you enjoy it!
I love reading your posts and each and every one of you have helped me in some way, and I thank you for that!
Have a wonderful week and STAY FOCUSED AND BE STRONG - the pay off is AWESOME!!!!
