Hello, my loves! I am returning to BfL after far too much time away. Who wants to start a January 6th group for support and encouragement? I have only to go UP from where I am today. Let's band together and take advantage of strength in numbers. :D
Good morning! I am in. I am also a returning BFL! I am proud to say I am part of the small percentage that finished this challenge 2 years ago. I absolutely need this online community for encouragement! I will be here every day!
I am SO thankful to be doing this with you, Andy! I will be here as well, I promise. :D What are you doing this week to get ready? I am beyond excited to start living life again! lol
I will be purging my kitchen of bad food! I am going shopping for good clean food for dinner. Mentally I am preparing myself for the 4:30AM wake up call 6 days a week and I am looking forward to week 4. That is about the time I remember the workouts really feeling great! I hope my experience with lifting the last time will help out and avoid any injury. Week 3 last time I hyper extended my knee and tore my meniscus and literally limped across the finish line!
We are getting some strong numbers for the Jan 6 team! We all need to keep each other accountable. One of the worst things you NEED to do is get you’re before pictures done. Trust me! I dreaded the camera flash and did not do this until week 6 and wished I had them from the start. Did everyone get the before pics? If not take them ASAP! You will hit a low in the next 90 days. You will feel pain and say it is not worth it. You will jump on the scale and think you are killing it and be discouraged with the results. ALWAYS look at the pictures. You WILL notice a difference. The journey to the end is not easy. But it is totally worth it crossing the finish line. You will be stronger. You will be more confident. You will feel better. YOU WILL LOOK BETTER!
So, do we want to have a new weekly thread or just keep this one going? Just curious :)
I have created my meal plan for the next month for the whole family. I know as the month goes on things will get tweeked, but at least I have started the planning process. My pantry was purged last week (during Christmas cookie baking season in my house lol). So, all I have left is my dignity and my coffee - what more could I ask for?
I plan on taking my before pictures this weekend. Thought about doing before pictures of my family as well. I wonder if a group shot could include teens?
I say lets keep this thread alive and just keep it going. That is my vote for what that is worth.
I am impressed that you have a month planned out for the household! Way to go! Virtual high five to you!
I never thought about a family before pic. I think I would do it as an individual picture if you want comparison, again just my vote.
Hi. I have completed two previous BFL challenges. The first one I lost 22 pounds in the 12 week challenge. The second I lost an additional 8 pounds. Since then (3 years ago) I have gained it all back (had some odd cardiac issues that prevented me from working out for a while - taken care of now). So here I am committing again, I would love to be part of the group starting on 1/6. Plan on grocery shopping today. My pics from my first challenge are up on my mirror to motivate me. Can't wait to get to know everyone better. Plan on taking pics/measurements on Sunday. Measurements are so important. If the scale isn't moving, the measurements usually are! Can't wait to get healthy again and stop hiding behind my kids in pictures!
Just realized my profile pic is from one of my first two challenges. I guess I will leave it for motivation!

We have a great group going! Measurements and pics this weekend. Food shopping and planning done! It is great to see everyone so ready. I am training for the tough mudder in October. I cant wait to show up my younger brother :-D
I am a returning to BFL after a 13 year hiatus (I finished with fantastic results, so I know it WORKS). I have tried so many other programs over the past years. But, BFL is the only one I can stay true too. I started the program last year but did not compete. I lost 35 pounds in 2013. And I am excited and ready to lose another 25 in 2014. My motto last year was "A year of change." This year it reads, "Finish what you started." Measurements and pics this weekend.
Good Morning! I'd like to join in with you all if that's okay! I'm starting Monday as well. I've watched all the transformations year after year and am finally ready for my own this year! My goal for the challenge will be to reduce my bodyfat percentage and build lean muscle mass. Looking forward to getting to know all of you over the next 12 weeks!
Ah! Now I see where the 6th starting date comes from... first monday of the year, right? Well, I was going to break out of the standard forms and start on jan. 1st. Does that still qualify for the group? If so, I am in!
of course it counts - the more the merrier I say!
