Day 59: Last night was another long night as my 2-year daughter is battling a cold. I am now worried that I am going to get again. With lost sleep my morning workout was again pushed to the afternoon. It went well in terms that I went up in weight on a few exercises with little difficulty. However, I have felt a little blah all day. Hopefully a good night sleep will turn things around.
Aussie- I have a TV in the garage where I workout. Usually I am watching CNN or the local morning news during my cardio.
Hehe, ok, I'll let you off then! LOL!
Hang in there buddy, obstacles are part of the journey, we just gotta do the best we can because...
"Life is what happens whilst we are busy making plans"...
Eat as clean as you can and get all your water in, helps counteract workout interruptions...
Obstacles are the quickest way to decipher the
winners from the losers....
Day 60: Every workout moves you closer to your goals. After some workouts, however, you feel like you literally just took a step or two forward. That is how I feel tonight after completing a kick butt cardo/core routine. Unfortunately, the reason why I I worked out at the end of the day instead of first thing in the morning is, my daughter is still dealing with a nasty cold that once again interrupted our sleep last night.
The good news: This time I have yet to be affected by her cold despite her coughing several times directly into my face. I have feeling so far my immune system has fought it off because of the BFL lifestyle.
Side note: Every pair of pants in my closet is now lose on me. for exception of my "Thin Jeans," a pair of 32 x 32 button ups. They were originally purchased when I first completed a BFL cycle 12 years ago. A few other times since then I have been able to get into them. One of my secret goals of this 12 week cycle is to once again be able to wear them. I put them on today, and was able to get to last button. So, I probably have another inch to an inch and half around the waste to go.
One more thing --- Holy Cow! Today, was Day 60!
Haha! I've been carrying this pair of jeans around for years(they're probably out of style now). But it's just something I intend to wear one day. Hopefully after this challenge. Who knows? (Maybe they'll be too big)
WOOHOO! Go Dan! What a difference a day can make hey! You should be doing that last button up easy in 3.5 weeks buddy! ROCK IT!
Day 61: Pace/Intensity are something that I know needs improvement in my weight workouts. Both upper body and lower body tend go long. Well tonight I was up against the clock. I put dinner in the oven and then rushed out to get my upper body completed in time to serve dinner (late workout again due to sick child). Tonight's routine included going up 10 lbs on the incline bench press.
I pushed myself to pick up the pace and completed the workout in time to serve dinner. The result was the workout was noticeably more intense. When I was done, I felt like I had completed an intense cardio and I could feel the affect of workout for hours afterwards.
On the somewhat gross side: I also noticed my own workout BO smelled different tonight. It was a smell that was familiar to gyms, but not one I ever noticed on myself. I only bring this up because I wounder what caused it. Did the more intense workout release a hormone? Was my sweet being generated from the actual burning of deeper fat?
Tomorrow completes week nine. This week has had some challenges, but the important thing is I have stayed on track.
Thank you Deb and LivingGood for your support. I really feel like you cheering for me to succeed and that means a lot. The support group in BFL Forums is vital for all of our success.
Day 62: 9 weeks and 54 workouts are now in the book. My cardio today was better than Tuesday, but not as strong as on Thursday. Overall the week was a very good week despite some obstacles. I'm looking forward to getting back into a morning workout routine next week.
This is what I need to help me complete my challenge which starts tomorrow, dan, you really are setting a great example of accountability, i just hope I have the commitment to stick with it,
My success is your success.
Day 63: I feel like I over did it a bit on my day off which thankfully corresponded wit Super Bowl Sunday. That's okay, because I have not held back at all during my days off and I am very pleased with my results so far. Even the over doing it part is good because it is a little reminder that it feels much better to eat healthy than to be regularly indulging in goodies.
I'm looking forward to getting up earlier tomorrow and getting back into the routine of working out first thing in the day which didn't happen once last week. Hopefully, my daughter will have a good night sleep to enable me to get the proper rest needed to wake up early.
I'm also looking forward to taking and sharing some progress pictures. I am down another 1.2 lbs this week to bring my total weight loss to an even 15 lbs. Was 195.0 --- Now 180.0! Plus I have gained a ton of strength.
Hey Jeff, your post meant a ton to me. I read your profile. You can do this and I am here for support!
Power to you Dan, enjoying freeday... I'm working on a few addictions, so I'm not feeding them at this point, and for the first time in a challenge not missing them (I seriously put this down to magnesium supps), therefore keeping it pretty tight, down the track I will ease up a little I think.
Hope your kiddo sleeps well for you! I would love to see your pics, so please do put them up!
Day 64: I was able to get up and get my workout in the morning and was able to add some weight to my leg extensions.
After my work I had my wife take my pictures. Seeing my progress gave me a huge emotional lift today. I am really looking forward to finishing strong. And then STARTING again!
Day 65: For the first time in over a week, my daughter managed to sleep the whole night! In turn, I go some needed rest and was able to get a good cardio in this morning.
I also had my appointment with the endocrinologist this afternoon. I got very good news there. He believes that what I am doing with BFL will raise my testosterone and he does not see the need at this time to go on a patch or any other medical treatment for now.
Great stuff! This structured eating can fix so many problems and it's great that he's in your corner, a lot are not so compliant! Keep on keeping on Dan!
Day 66: The upper body workout that kicked my but just last Friday was a relative breeze this morning. This is not to say that I should add even more weight to a few of the exorcises right away. I felt like I was on the upper end of what I able to do with proper form, but it wasn't nearly as difficult to do it.
I have also notice that I have been in an extremely good mood for a few days now. It is as if I have been running on a natural high, although I am crashing tonight. I truly believe the positive mental impact of BFL can equal or exceed the positive physical rewards.
Day 67: I had my teeth cleaned today and for the first time in several years there was no lecture or other concerns brought up. The hygienist said everything looked great and I come back in six months. This is in large part to my current dental hygiene routine. However, I also believe the BFL lifestyle played a major role. The stuff that makes you fat is also the same foods that tends to lead to dental issues. Take away the poor food and better dental hygiene naturally follows.
The cleaning has also lead to the start using my teeth whitening trays again. After all, I want to make sure I have a happy white smile when I have my 12 week pictures taken just a little over two weeks from now.
Cardio this morning was good, but not as strong as it has been. Some of my afternoon workouts last week were more intense then morning workouts this week. That is probably because I had something in my stomach. I am still a big fan of working out first thing in the morning when possible.
