  • Congrats..Sounds great Angie and my wishes for a fantastic, learning, rewarding Challenge!  Been on the sidelines but still here.  Started C2..... so at C2W3D2 (Day 16 of 84).   I just posted last challenge pictures on Transformation.com, a veeeerrrryyyy strange feeling, putting yourself out there.  I did learn something new (as I have everyday with the challenge).  The week before I started C2 I did a 3 day sampler just to get the feel back.....Lol not a good idea... as my daughter said, "What were you thinking!!!!!".."Cold turkey, like you did the 1st Challenge was the way to go!"    Yep it didn't produce the intense enthusiasm I thought it would, but no matter, I started anyway.  New goals, I guess somewhere 3 or 4 weeks after I finish again finally some clothes I can wear, more interesting things learned about my body and mind, more fun, new recipes, more intense better done work-outs, yes ..life is good.  I have always been careful not to let an injury spoil my fun, but never considered getting sick !!!!  Cold or Virus has been trying to get me since Sunday, and although it had me bad while I was trying to get into my workout, after I finished the workout I felt the best I had all day!  Real achey and tired though, trying to get a handle on the best nutrition to fight what's been trying to get me and feed my body for the program at the same time.... WELL THAT'S MY BOOK FOR TODAY.... THRILLED to be back and see everyone.  Whether you think you can, or think you can't....you're right!

  • Welcome back to the Playground, TonyO!! =)

DebMO :0)           Blessed to be a Blessing...

  • Hiya TonyO! Saw the pics - way to step out of the comfort zone and post them. I know how you feel. But over time, as the pictures go on, you will see progress. I PROMISE! :)

You are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE C2.

It's nice to see you post again. :)

  • Bump! The floor is yours TonyO!

  • Fad diets!

I have three co-workers who have tried the HCG diet. The first was Bob. He is 63 and lost 23 pounds in 41 days. Betsy lost 36 pounds and I just found out today and noticed to myself she looked smaller last week. Casey, in his 30s, was telling me he is 21days in and has lost 24 pounds.

I don't know if you have heard about this diet but it does not seem healthy to me. Plus no exercise allowed. I like my muscle mass and wouldnt want to lose it.

  • Hey TonyO!!  Try vitamin C.  It probably works better if you already have it in your system before you get sick to keep from getting so sick.  It really does seem to help you get well faster once you start taking it.

  • BryanL I am with you there is no way that diet can be healthy.

  • I third that. Anything that makes you lose weight that fast is only eating away lean muscle mass and precious water from our cells. They will lose weight then have fat left on their bodies that they can tuck into their pants, but when it comes to metabolizing anything they eat - fat cells are ALIVE and will just add more to their team. Building muscle is the way to go. Glad you pointed that out again BryanL.

My GF did the Herbal Life diet, is bigger now than last year BUT has a good $1000.00 water bottle from it to keep!

  • TonyO hope you are feeling better today than yesterday, i agree with Stephanie vitamin C is a great immune system builder, you can get it from vitamines or a C supplement but if you can get it oranges to (your carbohydrate for a meal) that is even better.   Not sure if you work out at home or in a gym but this morning i decided to use a squirt of the hand sanitizer before i left the gym, not sure why but it makes sense - i know through the cold and flu season i felt like i was fighing an uphill battle, everyone at the facility i was working out at was sick - i finaly decided that i would do the best i could to not touch my face at the gym and to use the sanitizer beforei left, i stopped getting sick.   Remember to keep drinking your fluids too, plenty of water is always a good thing, especially when you don't feel like it, and plenty of rest.  =)    hmmm sound like a doctor - "take two aspirin and call me in the morning"

Sending wishes for a speedy recovery your way.

  • To whoever wants to answer...

What kind of salad dressing does everyone use?

I love mixing cottage cheese & yogurt together!!! Is Dannon Light & Fit ok?

    1 container:

    calories 80

    Fat 0

    Sodium 95

    carbs 16

    sugars 11

    Protein 5

If not, what kind do you suggest?

    Thanks!

    Have a Great weekend!

  • Dee, that's the kind of yogurt  I use, but I don't use quite the whole serving...For salad dressing I mostly use the fat free Raspberry Vinagerette, throw a portion of chicken in there and YUMMO!! :)

  • Hiya Dee: The yogurt I usually buy (here in Canada) is called Silhouette 0+. It has 35 cal and 6g carbs. I usually only eat yogurt for meal 6 with my fat free Cottage cheese and BFLMike told me it was ok to go low on carbs for meal 6 IF I wanted to. It's not a good idea to NOT have correct carb portions throughout the busy day, but meal 6 was ok. This brand also allows me to add in some berries (carbs) if I want too.

Its a weird combo I would never have thought of, but I sure like it now.

  • I've come to the conclusion that it's more important to please your body/muscles than your taste buds!

Like someone once said: Eat to live, not live to eat!

So while I might not love the taste of everything, as long as my muscles are happy then the rest of me is happy!

Thanks for your yogurt & salad dressing favorites!
