LBWO done yesterday! Open Squats for the first time in a decade!! This morning was rough getting up, I am very sore. The second day is always worse, I will endure. VAL those kettlebells are no joke, keep up the good work. I am sore today, not SORRY! Hitting up the cardio today to loosen the lactic acid, and drinking lots of water!
Day 5 of 84
I started Monday, Aug 12th, and am determined to see this through for 12 weeks!
I prepared a bunch of meals in tupperware and wrote out my meal schedule for the week so now I just reach for my journal and know when and what to eat!
Day 3 and going strong! I am realizing my main problem before was not planning meals and workouts. I took a composition notebook, put motivation quotes and pics on cover, put before pics with my measurements on the front page, labeled 1-84 pages. One side I have my workout journal (provided on this site) and the other side I have my meal journal (also on this site). I plan ahead at least a day in advance although I would like to do a week in advance for an easier shopping experience. The planning is helping me stay motivated....still early I know but I'm very head strong! 😉
BTY: I am 30 wife and mother of 2 children and self employed with a vey busy business. I have to make time...worked out at almost 10:00 PM tonight!
Hey Shayla, I really like your idea. And good for you for working out no matter! In the beginning of BFL (early 2000's) Bill had a journal that was awesome. Wish it was still around. Maybe I have to make my own too.
I had an awesome workout yesterday and really brisk 4 mile walk this morning. I am eating clean too. I am so impatient for change! I have to counsel myself in patience!! The time will pass and change will come. Just keep doing the right things every day.
Marvelous, Keep posting and let me know how its going.
80 days to go!
Awesome planning ladies!! I think that is where I have failed before, because it is easy to hit a drive-thru when you are stuck without a plan.
Hey Marvelous, 10 kids! Good for you for taking care of yourself. I am mom to 6 and am a much better mother when I take of myself
Week one done. I am planning on doing pictures again at week 2. I want to do pictures at each 2 week interval. My kids start school this week and I am going to have to either get up at 4:45 am for kettlebell class or do it in the evening. I had been going to a 9am class that I really liked but will be losing my babysitters to school. I am planning to drink more shakes during the course of the day rather than meals. I think that might make it easier to keep my calorie count down.
I think updated pictures will definitley give motivation. I love hearing how you all are doing! I just finished my week one and am proud to say I'm well on my way...down 3 lbs so far! I had my free day today but didn't want to undo any hard work throughout the week so I avoided sugar all together. My splurge was on some veggie chips and reduced fat wheat thins. I'm going to try to avoid sugar throughout the challenge, which for me is HARD! That's my main weekness but I am so motivated! Those smaller clothe are going to feel amazing!!!! 😉
Well the weekend brought additional challenges with a wedding that I went to. I used that as my free day. I ate good at dinner. AND I had a few drinks and stayed up late, and had pizza. I still worked out that day, and now I am back on the horse. I don't plan on using my free days like that, but it was a wedding. I was down 6.6 pounds after one week. The soreness is not nearly as bad as the first few days. In the BFL book, Bill Phillips says that we should pay attention how we feel after a free day. I felt great all week, but was very sluggish on Sunday. It was hard to go to the gym, but I did it.
FYI this is where I usually fail, after having a bad day it slowly creeps back. I am not going to fail this time!
Mongo254, don't worry about it! Keep on keeping on! I love this quote and maybe it will help you...."if your tired of starting over, stop giving up".
Hey Mongo, You had an excellent week and then a free day. Not a thing to feel bad about there. Your doing great!
Shayla, I love sugar as well! Good on you for avoiding it. I tend to eat whatever I have been craving during the week on my free day. I have always used my free day freely! It does not seem to make a difference in my weight loss as long as I am faithful to the program the other 6 days. I had 2 shakes yesterday. I make mine with Lean 15 EAS powder and coconut/almond milk. They are really good tasting and I don't mind drinking them at all. I notice a big difference in how I feel the next day if I drink a shake after my kettlebell workout. I don't have near as much muscle fatigue the next day.
Tomorrow the kids start school and I am going to try a 5:30am workout. I have to get up at 4:45 to get to the class on time! After a summer of working out when I want I am really dreading that!!
Thanks ShaylaS and VAL. Good luck tomorrow on your early workout!!! I do like that quote. Question for you: When working out, like doing open squats. Am I supposed to change every work out so I don't do open squat as my primary lift? Or can I do that every time?
I like to change my weight lifting routines. I think it helps. For example do leg extentions, standing squats, squat machine, lunges, and such for muscle confusion. If you have a smart phone, download the FitnessTrainer ap. it give lots of exercise ideas for different muscle groups. It's helps if you get stuck on certain exercises.
Hey Mongo, I keep the same weight routine for a month. Nothing changes except of course the amount I lift. After a month then I change the lifts I do. It may be as simple as incline press instead of a regular chest press. Nothing like those squats! They are great for your whole leg and backside.
My alarm is set for 4:45. Yikes. Hope I get shut eye soon.
Thank you. I think I will do the same lifts for a month, then change it up. Had a busy day at work followed by a super early morning, so I did not get my cardio in yesterday :(. I am going to make it up today. I felt bummed that I couldn't do it, I had a great streak going and I didn't want to mess it up. Oh well....Happy lifting!
