Having a football party here and watching the Boise State game, they aren't doing to well and I am not doing to well on the food we have. Got a 20 minute walk in to day so that was a good thing. Hope your all having a great weekend. Take care and be back soon.
Hi all you CC's,
It's Monday and I got up early and walked over a mile this morning. Tomorrow I will drive 100 miles to workout in the pool and do my LBW. I just can't get the weight off yet, but I remember on C1 it was the same way, but I lost 15 total inches. So I know it will happen soon. I'm pretty excited today. Keeping all the food clean. Hope all of you hard working CC's are enjoying this extra day off, I know I am, I worked for it too. Be back later.
Happy Tuesday everyone! I had a decent Labor Day weekend. I really tried to be good during this holiday so I didn't screw up my progress. Here's what I did.
Saturday- 15.6 mile bike ride, and ate clean BFL style.
Sunday- 7.8 mile bike ride (would have been 15.6 miles but got in a thunderstorm about the time I made it to my half way point and had to put my bike in my dad's truck and drive it home). Diet wasn't 100%. I had a few cheats. A cup of ice cream, some cookies, and some nerds :( I don't even know why I did it. I just did..... The rest of the time I was on BFL for the day.
Monday- 15.6 mile bike ride, chest and triceps workout at home with dumbbells, and ate clean BFL style. Also did some yard work.
Tuesday- My wife took my morning time today and went to workout with a friend, so I'll be doing my cardio session after work. I have my BFL meals planned out for the day as well.
JR- If that shoulder is still giving you problems now after this much time it probably won't get better on its own. I'd probably have it looked at.
Laurie- Looks like you're doing great aside from the football party foods. It's very hard to stay away from those foods when they're just laying around all over the place. I've been pre-eating lately when I know I'm going to be in a situation like that. I'll eat a bunch of vegetables before I ever get there so I'm just not hungry and that way I'm far less tempted.
How's everyone else doinf!?!?
Not the best weekend for the diet, but I did sweat like crazy every day doing yard work.
Chest/Tris this morning with 4 sets of decline situps. Pretty good workout. I got a heart rate monitor, and it helps me keep my intensity up. Really wanting to crank the intensity for the next 10 weeks and kill some fat cells!!!
Shoulder held up better today, but definitely not 100%.
j_gilmer1979 invited to your thread, and thanks for having me. I stated in another thread that I did not want to be a part of the statistics that won't make it past 2 weeks. So here I am. I'm only 6 days in but I'm all in.
Have a great day!
pennyready- Welcome to the Cottage Cheese Club! Glad to have you here! So... Tell us about yourself. Did you make specific goals for this challenge? What are they? Are you working out at home or at a gym?
You don't have to reveal too much info about yourself if you don't want to, but it'd be nice to know where you're from and stuff just to get to know a little about you. I'm a married mid 34 year old father of 2 in Southeastern Missouri working on my 3rd challenge of 2013. That pretty much sums it up for me....
I'm 45 from east coast.
I have a gym in the house where I work out. Pretty extensive stuff, leg press, lat pull, bench press, leg extension leg curl, cardio bike, tread mill, lots of free weights. The gym was finished being built and all of the equiptment was in by December last. I thought "this is it", no excuses, I'm gonna get fit......I gained 17 POUNDS.
I've had the body for life book and book on tape for years. I started listening to it at night as I lay awake contemplating how discusted I was with myself and my life in this body. I don't know but something just clicked. I need to do this. I could live my life like this and I guess no one would know the difference, but I think it's time that someone does notice a difference in me. Like the book says the only difference between a rut and the grave is a few feet.
Have a good day
Wahooooo, WELCOME Penny! We love it when awesome people join our thread! :) This group rocks and when you need support, you will most definitely get it. My advice: check in daily (I need to start doing so again!). During my C1, this group helped tremendously - and still does! Granted, I'm not at my dream weight, but I'm feeling good and whenever I need a boost, this group gives that to me. So check in as often as you can! And you're damn right you're going to get fit :) Stick with the CCers! As for this girl, a brief background: 35, lives in MN, wants to lose weight and tone this don-kee up. While I may not have noticed weight loss, I've noticed definite toning in my arms and stomach. The weight loss will come - I'm guessing in the fall when I won't have all of my usual summer temptations around me?? Just stick with this and don't give up...it works! Before you know it, this will be a way of life and won't feel like "another program" or whatever. It's awesome! Welcome friend!
Justin, you left out that you are the bomb diggity in your description above. Consider this your warning to never forget that again! ;) Um and NICE JOB on your holiday weekend!! Woop woop!
Jr, what kind of HRM did you get? I have a Polar and I.love.it. It's not one bit fancy (well other than being pink) - and it's like a game when I wear it. It totally pushes me!
My check in: this girl (as I hang my head in shame), did not do stellar last week. While I ate great for the most part, my workouts suffered - then I went up to the cabin over the weekend. Beeeeeeer. Sooooo yeah. I'm not going to dwell too much as these bumps happen and it's a matter of getting back with the program STAT. Well, until Friday when I head out of town for a little MN stay-cation. It's more of a hiking vacation, but I'm sure nights at the local watering hole will be a part of it. I'll be out of town until Wednesday night of next week so then it will be BFL full speed ahead! No.more.excuses.
Have a great day everyone!!
Happy Hump Day! My chest it sore all the way through the muscle to the bone from Monday's all dumbbell chest workout. I might need to do that more often!
Last night- Cardio and abs. Burned 686 calories on the stair climber.
This morning- Back and biceps followed up with a 20 minute stair climb that burned 342 calories. I increased al of my weights on back exercises for all sets/exercises. I can really feel it already!
JR- Does the HR monitor give you a count of the actual amount of calories that you burn? If so, what make and model is it? Also, do you feel like it gets in your way at all?
Pennyready- It's awesome that you've built your own gym! You should post a pic so we can see it! It also takes away the excuse of not being able to get to the gym doesn't it? Those 17lbs will come back off and then some if you keep at it! Welcome to the club....
Everyone else- I'm going to start filling out missing persons reports for you if I don't hear from you soon!
SHORTY!! We cross posted! I'm glad to hear from you! I was getting ready to FB stalk you, Gina, and David. Also... Has anyone heard from Sue? We need to get her back here! You are right about summer having way too many temptations. I feel like I've been living as a hermit to try and avoid beer and bad food, but I decided I'm going to do what it takes... Thanks for calling me the "bomb diggity" LOL. Does your HR monitor tell you how many calories you've burned?
1- Shorty... THERE IS NO WAY YOU'RE 35!!! In a related note, excellent new FB photo. You look 25! And... no more excuses! Check-in, give us some Shorty love, and get your don-kee in gear!
Speaking of awesome people... I need some Gina in my life... Gina... GINA... GINA!!!!!!!
2- I bought a Timex Ironman monitor. Definitely no frills. It doesn't even have a stopwatch! But I'm liking it pretty well. And it's been as accurate as any HR device I've ever used. And yes, it counts calories. 475 this morning in my 45 minute Back/Bi/Calf workout. Max HR 160 (thanks to dumbbell rows), average HR 128, duration 44:45.
3- PENNY. This place is awesome, as you will soon find out. And you're awesome, so this should be a match made in heaven. And... I'm stupid jealous of your home gym.
Solid workout this morning 9 out of 10! Pullups, Cable Rows, DB Rows (heavy), Hyperextensions, Preacher Curls, SS with seated calf-raises, one-legged standing calf-raise (Wow! That's a lot in 45 min)
Time to eat. Keep being awesome.
Cross post!!!!! Sue...no, we haven't heard from her in a long time. She's off being awesome, I'm sure. She's posted some cute pics on facebook - looks like she's having a great summer! My heart rate monitor tells me exactly how many calories I've burned...and what's so great is that it's set specifically for me: my height, age, and weight. You have to wear the chest strap, but I don't ever notice it (unless I'm running 3 miles, then it rubs under my knockers...issue solved with paper tape. Haven't had that happen in a while as I'm not running at the moment...I should really get back into that in the winter...rambling here...). I believe mine is a Polar F4? A great purchase!
Cross post with Jr!!! Thanks for the props on the photo, Jr! My parents both look young for their age so I've got good genes. I owe it all to them, that's fo shizzle. And I KNOW, must.check.in.more.often. I love my CC peeps!!!! Each and every one of you = f'ing amaze.balls. YES, speaking of amaze.balls WHERE IS GINA?!?! Maybe Brad has been keeping her busy with meetings? And on another note of amaze.balls (which I can't stop using apparently), Jr, duuuuuude, a 9 out of 10 workout = NICE!!!! Lots of dippy dips 'n such = SWEET!! I'm really excited to see the Boys of BFL poster due out this winter. STUDS.
Loving all of this activity on the thread today!!
JR- Does your monitor have a chest strap?
Shorty- I noticed those pics too! You do look to be in your 20s. We need to find Sue and get her back on here. Too funny about the "knockers"! Ha!
Yes, my HR monitor has a chest strap. But it doesn't bother me, or my man-boobs. Hardly notice it.
