Good morning all,
Missed yesterday workout...not sure what's wrong with me but slept through alarm. Even with packed gym bag for after work, I decided to get to house since it was after 7pm. Can't afford to get off schedule. With all that happened this weekend and busy workload, justl a little tired.
Sharon - er Wonderwoman.. your schedule makes me ashamed to feel tired. SERIOUSLY! I don't know how you do it but I salute ya in maintaining your routine despite your very hectic schedule, preparing to make an international move (wow!) and the stressful situation with your daughter and son-in-law. You're awesome!
Laurie - 100 mile round trip for workouts, takes great desire to do that. You have a great plan for the changes you are dealing with.
Justin - elipitical beast - give me some of your mojo!! can't wait to see you results from C3 the way you're killing it!
JR. - congrats on your new workout digs. Sounds nice with 25m pool, tennis courts, old folks and all.. Very similar to where I go.
Shorty - glad you had an enjoyable walk/run outside. Really too hot to do that here so I'm vicariously enjoying it with you. Gotta agree on treadmills, great for cardio, but gets old quickly. Agree with JR., don't be afraid to change it up. Have you run stadium bleachers?
Ben is doing better, he is staying busy with his college's welcome week. Now we need to find him some transportation. Maybe a bicycle.
Have a great one.....great ones!
Cardio on the elliptical is complete for the day. Covered 4.2 miles and burned 465 calories. It was kind of a weird session because I couldn't use the handles very much. My back is okay after the back workout, but for some reason my rear deltiods are so sore I couldn't pull on the handles very long. Never had that problem before.... I wonder which ecercise caused it. It's not like any of the exercises were new to me, so I guess it was the volume of reps that caused it. Oh well, it's always been a spot that I've wanted to grow so it's good. It's sure going to make those rear delt flys a challenge tomorrow though....
JR- Man the stairclimber has got to be one of the best cardio machines in the gym as far as calories burned for the time spent on it. In my gym they're always available too because it's harder exercise and people don't seem to want to do it. I wish we had some rowing machines. I'd rank it #2 in my book.
David- I need all the mojo I can get my hands on! But.... I'll send a little your way. ((()))) There it is. Can you feel it!?!?
Killed a lower body workout this morning. It's so good to have free weights at my disposal again! What ever possessed me to join Planet Fitness? (ummm I think it was $10/month you cheap don-kee)... Leg Press SS w/ Leg Extension, Straight-leg Deadlift SS w/ leg curls, DB Lunges SS w/ BURPEES! I've been doing calves with my cardio days. If you haven't done the lunges w/ burpees... and you feel like dying... try it!
Also had a great shake this morning. 2 scoops vanilla whey, 1 cup 100% OJ, 1 cup frozen mixed fruit.
Justin- I typically include rear delt flies with back instead of shoulders. Your preference, but it makes a killer SS with bent-over rows!
The rest of you folks... keep on a rockin' it, baby. Which reminds me this new gym has great music! No headphones needed.
Hi Everyone, I can't belive I am up at 8am. Ha. I am not an early riser...BUT On my way to work out and will come back here later. Hope all of you have a GREAT DAY!! :o)
What up CCers! Love reading about all of your workouts - keep kickin' don-kee!!! Woop woop!
My other cardio options in the workout room are a bike and ellipticals. I know I'll be in there during the winter so I'll hit the trails by my house for the time being. It's a very hilly area so I'll just have to kick my own don-kee! There are plenty of options to get my heart rate up, I just have to DO IT. And no, I don't have a bike (although my mom is giving me hers…just a matter of getting it). David, I know, I should get my tush over to the high school stadium and run those bleachers… But why, oh why, can't I just go on nice, long, daydreaming walks and that would be good enough?! ;) HIIT HIIT HIIT (this is me hammering it into my head for today's workout).
Must get back to work - you all have fabulous days!!
It's Friday... you ain't got no job... and you ain't go (anything) to do... Well that's not exactly right, but it is Friday! Thankfully, I've got an awesome job and plenty to keep me busy.
Feeling a little first week back soreness this morning. Leg day yesterday and HIIT on the treadmill this morning. Lovin' the new old folks gym.
Laurie: I can't believe anyone sleeps past 8am. I generally can't sleep past sunrise without the assistance of an adult beverage (generally consumed the night before not the morning of).
The rest of you folks better be out there tearing up this Friday!
Happy Friday everyone! Leg and shoulder workout completed his morning followed by a 20 minute stair climb. I'm kinda liking the cardio every day thing. Burning 330-450 calories per cardio session, which isn't breaking any records for me, but it feels pretty good. The stairs were a little tougher right after doing a leg workout though, and I was right about the rear delt flys..... Those were killer this morning!
Shorty- Those hills will get those legs burning for sure! I miss my old trail system so bad!
Laurie- I agree with JR on the 8am thing. I have to get up early to get these workouts done or else they are very hard to get in. It's a 5am wake up call for me every day.
JR- Glad you're liking the new gym. What all do they have in there?
STAIRS!!!! AFTER LEG DAY! That should be my workout for the day, ouch. I don't do elevators as a general rule, but man stairs suck after leg day.
Justin- new gym has just about everything. Free weight room (bench, decline, incline, squat rack, dead lift/power cleans, DB up to 100lbs) Hammer strength room, hydraulic machines room, body masters room (cable machines), and cardio room (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stairmasters), pool, racquetball, tennis. It's $60/month though, and kind of old, but everything is in great condition.
Probably could have just linked the website to start: http://pacactive.com/
I'm coming back! Starting Monday, Gina is back on the BFL wagon, and forum ;). I've seen how easily a "modified challenge" can turn into no challenge at all......this is where I would use a FB-appropriate word. Not gonna get me yet, tiff! Ha! :-). Looks like we have a couple more ladies in the club!?? Heyyyyyyyyyyy girls! I'm going back through to check out my meals and the general awesomeness of the forum. This place is like puppy love. It gives me butterflies, haha!
So....I've been sitting by the pool for an hour and no one has come to get me a drink, and it's not a walk up and order kinda resort, which is pretty annoying.....anyway, last day of vacation and I want a drink, dammit! We're so ready to come home. We've been FaceTime(ing) with baby G everyday which has been awesome and heartbreaking all at the same time. MISS HER! She keeps saying dada when she sees us, and I'm all, GIRL, I ruined my body for you, birthed you, would it kill you to say mama?!?! :-).
Anyway, see you Monday! Have an awesome weekend :-)
HI Everyone, Hi Gina, Welcome back!
Got my UBW in the pool Thurs. and put some weigths on my rist. It was some water workout. Those old fokes think I'm nuts, but what ever works. Right?
I am in the process of packing a 4br.2bath, 3car garage, and shed up. You'd think that would help me lose some weight, but not yet. Got to be out by this next thurs.
I'm in a lot of pain in the early mornings, don't get much sleep some nights, so I don't get up early. But I am trying to change that a little bit at a time. As long as I can get in some work out 2 or 3 times a week , I think it's good, but it's hard some times.
I will be back maybe this weekend to see how your all doing. Have a Great weekend!
What's up CC'ers? Feeling 1000% this morning.
Good UBWO this morning BFL style. Ready for a really good week. Last week I had great workouts, but less than stellar meals. I tried until I was a tough situtation (co-workers out for pizza lunch, ballgame, the list goes on). This week will be better.
GINA!!! It's Monday, let's roll!
I have completed my chest and triceps workout for the week and followed it up with a 20 minute stair climb. I didn't feel as strong in my chest workout as I normally do, but I think it's because I cut my rest between sets back down to 60-90 seconds. Today I tried something a little different. For every set on flat bench press I would do as many reps as I could do, then switch to push ups and do as many reps as I could do, and end with 3-4 very slow negative push ups. It feels like I got a really good workout in!
JR- Those stairs are pretty tough after a hard leg workout aren't they? I've been doing the stair climber right after each weight lifting session and it just about kills me after working legs!
Gina- WELCOME BACK! Can't wait to hear how your first day back goes after all that vacation!
Laurie- Moving suck, but it's a great workout! Hope everything goes smoothly.
Shorty/David- How's everything going.
Here's a couple of links to some information I've been using on this challenge.
This is why I've been doing cardio everyday.
Calorie, metabolism, and macros calculator.
OMG, HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Day 1!
Bringing this back:
Workout planned: 6am HIIT on Spin Bike. Pretty good effort, nothing to brag about.....I'll get back there!
Foods planned: 1) Jimmy Dean Delight 2) String cheese/yogurt. 3) 3 oz turkey, cheese, whole grain bun, cucumbers 4) SC/Apple 5) Steak salad or stirfry. 6) Hopefully protein pudding!
I'm swamped and stressed after a week out of the office. Can't stay and play today, but I'm here with you! :)
Not sure what to think about Scooby. He's got a great physique, but I sure would like to see more support for his "facts." "Activate your 'fat afterburners'" sounds like a bunch of BS when he doesn't present any research to back it up. Cardio "everyday" sounds like serious over-kill. BUT... I got down to about 12% body fat and too thin with my routine. He's probably 9% and much thicker. I'd says he doing something better than I am!
Keep us posted on the results. I want to know as much about how you're feeling, and how your knees, ankles and calves are holding up as I do about your fat loss. You've stoked my curiosity.
