Good mid-morning to all! That sounds so cornball, but just felt like saying it. Well, another late night at the O. Did get up and get my shoulders and a little Pace class following. Our trainer, Kelly, had a thing for the weighted bars today. Also got my hairs cut. Getting it a little shorter each time and next will be my summer cut.
See Shorty and Justin have been bantering about this morning.
Shorty - we love the Target down here too! I'm sure you were rocking the weights in your workclothes....what?!! still no picks?! You have a 3 day ahead and plenty of time to take and upload. It's really pretty easy to do actually. /sarc

I remember reading in Men's Health (Char calls it my soft porn mag) about trainers from hell and there was one trainer that was showing a hot young lass how low to squat. He was on his back and had his hands up and was having her squat until her gluteous maximus touched his hands.........things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

Happy Friiiiiiiiiiiiiday errbody! I woke up a few minutes late this morning and scrambled to get to the gym. When I got there I noticed that the lights were off and the doors were locked...... WTH!?!?!? There's only one lady that works there in the mornings, so I'm guessing that she either overslept or called in sick. Either way that makes the 3rd workout that I missed this week. Grrrrrrrr!! Tomorrow morning I'm going to do a LBWO and an hour of cardio to try and make up for lost time.
Or.... If you're supposed to be there to open the dang gym! SMH..........

Gina- Funny stuff. You wouldn't believe how many times that has been said to me. If I go somewhere on my way to or from hunting and have to pay for gas or grab some food and run into someone I know I normally hear. "Oh.... I didn't see you there...." AND... You're right about the carbs. I'm planning on getting really strict with them for the last 5 weeks. I have to go on a mini vacation at the end of next week and after that I'm going to be super strict for the remainder of C2. Also, I was reading through some of the old posts on the forum last night and about died laughing when I ran across the part where you thought JR was a woman!!!!! Daaaaaaaaaaaang Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiina! Hahahaha..... That was great!

Well, looks like its just you and me today, Justin. Appears everybody else has started the weekend. Believe me, I would do the same thing if I could right now.
Sorry that your gym was not open this morning because the some employee couldn't get out of the sack. You got any other gyms out there? GnR - The Most Dangerous Band in the World. Great job tweaking the lyrics. Everytime I hear it while I'm working out now, I'll be laughing my head off.......thanks. Worked again till about 8p last night. Hopefully I can push through this soon. Just tough being shorthanded. On the road this morning for several appts. By time I got to the office, already had driven over 100 miles. Trying to ease up on carbs myself, but tough. I'm hovering around 200 which is ok. I have definitely gained some size on this particular routine and lifting heavier than I ever have.....and at a lighter weight than when I lifted "heavy" years ago.
I did hit a personal best this morning. I ripped off 9 weighted dips w/100lbs!! Ok, I have proof...... 2 45s and 1 10....... I know the Monster drink I had made the difference!
My partner took video so you guys wouldn't think I strapped on the weight than took it off before doing the dips....haha. I've tried to upload several times, albeit unsucessfully. Plays good on the phone though. Do have pick of my first set at 50lbs,

David- ATTABOY!! Way to go withthose weighted dips. I've been doing mine at the end of UBWO days and I love the way they feel!! Nothing seems to work my chest as well as dips. Since I do them at the end of my workouts I haven't been adding any weight. I just do to failure for three sets, and that's normally in the 10-12 rep range. They're pretty dang hard to do after youve already worked chest and doing them right after going as heavy as you can on triceps. I just love doing them though. I wonder why we're capable of lifting so much more with this movement. You'd think it would be harder than a flat bench press, but it's easier. I guess we need someone with a kineseology degree to answer that one.....
Thanks, Justin. It's not a bench max, but I'm still pretty pleased about it. Yeah, maybe JR can xpln why it's easie than bench. I think part of it is that you have a neutral grip which is less strain on the shoulders. Pretty good you can rip out at least 10 of those after a UBWO. Most people I see at the gym use the dip/pullup machine. The weighted dips were at the first of the wo, but it changes from week to week. We followed those up with close grip bench press and I was able to get 205lbs up 4 times on the last set. Hand position was about 10 inches apart. I will try to get the video uploaded. It was taking forever and I'm not sure why. Reps went 21 at 50lbs, 15 at 70lbs, and 9 at 100lbs. Triceps were spent at the end.
Happy Monday CCCers! I'm glad this is a new week because last week SUCKED for BFL. I've been eating a lot of junk, and it's making me sick! I'm kind of an all or nothing person, so when I had to miss those workouts I got a little depressed and took it out on the Skittles and other various sweets...... BUT... I'm finally getting all of the goodies out of my house from Brock's party. And just in time to go on a mini vacation later this week. Soooo..... I'm hoping that there will be somewhat good foods to eat while I'm gone for that. This is a four day week for me, so I'm excited about that.
Also... Instead of getting way more strict on my carbs I've decided to do the maximum cardio tweak on the cardio exercises to see how that will go. I took this from the Hussman fitness page. "If you do add more aerobics, my own recommendation is to use the high intensity 20 minute pattern no more than three times a week. You can do more aerobics at lower intensity, but too much of the high intensity cardio will bonk your energy and compromise your recovery. A mild tweak would be to do the 20-minutes at high intensity, and to add up to 10 minutes of moderate level 6-7 activity to the end of each. A more significant tweak would add yet a fourth 30-40 minute moderate session (no high points) on your free day. And the maximum tweak would be to do three 20-minute sessions at high intensity, adding up to 20 moderate minutes to the end (40 minutes total), and then add an additional 30-40 minute session on the free day at moderate intensity throughout. And get plenty of rest. That maximum tweak will trade off muscle gains for fat loss, so it's not something you want to do over the long-term." I think I'd be better off doing this than cutting more carbs. I'm already pretty low on those when I'm on plan.
