I have Leslie's tapes the r good two for those days I can't get outside. Thanks for the tip
Wow!!! Today was tough, but I DID IT!!! I stayed on track with my food , which was hard by the way, and with my workouts!! I feel so proud of myself. Now I am ready for bedtime!!! I hope all of you had a great first day!! Do not give up! Please stay on course for these twelve weeks...they will go by before you know it and you feel and look amazing!!!
I know alot of us (including myself) usually give up and lose focus and get discouraged and end up not completing challenges...let's not do this to ourselves this time around. Let's stay with it. Let's not be that one person we do not see on here anymore....stay with us!!! We all have hard and busy lives, but we can do it!! Have a good night!!! See you in the morning!
Darlene
Hi Amy!
That is so neat you are getting married in September! Great way to end the challenge. You will look gorgeous in your dress! Love the Lance Armstrong quote!
Hi ,
My name is Jennifer. I just turned 42 years old and decided to start the challenge today. I did the program 6 years ago and lost 36 pounds. I felt wonderful but, 4 years ago I was in a car accident and messed my back up. I am able to be up and about but have had 4 back surgeries (double fusion and single fusion-in the last 14 months) and numerous procedures, I refuse to let this stop me or get me discouraged though.
I have put on 85 pounds in these years and MUST get the weight off. I want to feel like me again.
I am blessed to have three children 21,19, and 12 and want to make sure I am doing everything possible to stick around for all the important things the future holds.
I can't say that I have not questioned my decision today because of the exercise part of the program.I keep trying to figure out how to do all of the different exercises without causing any problems with my back or legs and more pain. I guess this really scares me because of after the lack of exercise and the everyday pain I have had the last few years but, my daughter and I went and walked the beach this evening and I reminded myself that even though I can't go to the gym like I use to, I can still get up and walk. Getting the weight off will help with the leg and back pain and overall make me feel better.
I did not mean to be so long winded but I had to get some of that off my chest so that I can move forward with tomorrow. I know we can all do this and I look forward to really getting to know each of you and supporting one another. Be blessed.
Hi Bryan!
Welcome! I love your profile...the pictures are amazing!! You have come a long way, so happy to have you with us!
Hi Ken!
Yes, you WILL lose those 30 pounds!! You did great in getting up early and going to the gym...way to go!! I hope you ended the rest of the day on a good note, and didn't give into temptation while watching tv. I have read the BFL book and I LOVE it!! It is so inspirational! Thanks for your motivation and for joining all of us on this journey together! See you tomorrow!
Welcome Thundergrrrl!
Glad to have you here with us! You will love this challenge...just stick to it and you WILL lose those nagging 30 pounds!!
Darlene and everyone else, thank you for doing this with me. It was very encouraging to see you all get through it yesterday. It was tough this first day but today is a new day. I had two small hiccups yesterday but I'm not discouraged. I didn't eat fast food I chose a healthier alternative.
Jennifer, I don't plan on doing all the fancy exercises so do what you feel comfortable. Don't let that stop you from success. Start off slow and as the weight comes off you can see how great you feel and work from there. Good luck!
Wow - great to hear from all of you!
Bryan - saw your pics and read your story - inspirational! Keep it up!
Ken - YOU CAN DO IT! YOU WILL DO IT!
Thundergrrrl - Amazing weight loss and maintenance already! Awesome! Look forward to working with you over the next 12 weeks to encourage each other to keep going!
Hi Darlene,
Thanks for starting this thread. I have begun my challenge as well -Day 2. I did my upper body workout today, did pretty well though I coudn't finish with two exercises left to go. However, I'm proud of what I did and it gives me motivation to do better next time. I am jonesing for a Diet Coke SOOOOO BAD, but I haven't had any! Lots of water! I'm just having trouble fitting in the mini meals so far. I'll get the hang of it by the end of the week, I'm sure!
This thread is great! Good luck to all!
Hi Everyone!
Day 2 is starting off great! Already did my cardio, and got my first meal in. I was pretty impressed doing 6 miles on the stationary bike in 20 minutes...lol. I hope all of you have a great day 2...I will be checking back in later tonight. Remember stay focused and keep busy!!
Hi Jennifer!
Welcome to the board. Wow, you are going through so much physically and emotionally. This challenge will help you so much in feeling better about yourself, but only do what you can with the exercise. Do not feel bad if you can't do more, or read what others are doing in their exercise regimen. We are all individuals and we need to go at our own pace...yes, we need to push ourselves, but not injure our bodies. You did an amazing first step in joining, and you will do awesome throughout the challenge...hang in there...we are rooting for you and everyone else!! You will make it to the finish line with us all!!!
Monica,
Slip ups happen, and that is great you pulled yourself out of it and didn't do anymore damage. Hope you have a great second day!!
Hi DivineMzM!
Welcome to our challenge!! Great job on your second day!! Don't give into temptation!! You are so much stronger than a Diet Coke...lol!! First week is usually quotic, but we will all become pros as time goes on. All I can say is preparation is key. Try to have all your meals pre-made, so that you do not grab anything on impulse. Make a date with the gym or where ever you workout. Have a great rest of the day!!
I too am a mom to 4 (17, 13, 12, 9) and tackled BFL in 2006 with amazing results. I'm not sure why I stopped...I lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks even with a full cheat day each week, and then for some reason I gave up. This time I'm doing it, no excuses, and I know I will see the same great results.
I just registered for BfL challenge (start date 6/13/2012) and I'll be happy to have others I'm accountable to (didn't do the forum last time). And I'll be happy to be a support to others here too.
My starting weight is 209 (yikes)
and my height is 5 feet 7 inches.
I'm actually looking forward to kicking my own a#@ in the gym!
Lets do this!
Cheers 8)
