I am a mom...5 times over. I am 45 soon to be 46. I have had a fractured hip and tailbone which cause me both pain and limitations. I will not let these factors deter me. I will begin 06/01/2012.
Along with me, I am bringing my 17 year old daughter. She has had issues with her weight since 2 years of age. Some may say its genetic. There is obesity on both sides of her genes.
Not only will I commit to do whatever it takes to reach my goal, I will be there for my daughter. Together, we shall lift, carry, push, pull and support one another along on this adventure.
Now, if I can figure out how to get started! lol lol lol lol
Great choice and good luck to you and your daughter. You gotta drag the rest of the family in on it; strength in numbers. Does the family have the book BFL? That is where to start!
You've picked the date already, so (1) read the book, (2) print out record sheets from the library (up at top of page), (3) plan menu for first week or use the sample one (also up top), (4) buy groceries for the new rules and get rid of the really unusable things like candy -- it's better to buy "free day" things on free day.
Either join a gym or get hold of a weight bench and dumbells. If you guys are very heavy, the aerobic machines at a gym are good for getting low-impact cardio that won't put as much strain on joints as things like jumping rope or jogging. Or else get a stationary cycle, but with two people it's probably better support to be able to do the cardio at the same time.
