August 29th Challengers!!

  • Okay, so we're coming to the end of week 5, and we haven't heard from a lot of challengers who started with us. So I'm calling you all out! Where are you? How are you doing with the challenge? Have you given up? We wanna hear from you! Don't give up, and if you already have, get back on the wagon, it's not too late.

  • Hi Prettybrains, im still in! i've seen some pretty impressive changes, but now things have slowed down and i am looking forward to week 8. Still haven't slacked off, working hard and sticking to the right eating. I've had lots of support here, there have been days i wanted to give up and throw it all in but these people have encouraged me through the tough times and now im great, im stuck in my routine and it feels right. i've been coming up with more ideas for dinners and snacks as i was getting quite sick of eating the same things over and over.

  • The final stretch is here starting week 6  and feeling good, however still tired at many times of the day. Working hard at the gym, starting to see some results on my legs and stomach. Looking forward to the end results can't wait, but looking forward to continuing afterwards. I have only lost a total of 7 lbs in the last 5 weeks which is a little disappointing to me, however still pushing my self harder and harder at the gym.

  • Well done Meltim!

i got on the scales on Saturday and i am down 6kgs - 13.2lbs which i can't believe, i've lost a total of 30cm from around my body - waist, hips and thighs, & bust. Alot of people at my work now are wanting to do this program to,. i am recommending it to just about everyone!!

  • Well i've been brave and worked out how to post my progress photos. Week 1 and then week 4.

i've posted in my transformation forum

  • Well, here's my update for the week. It all started on Monday, when things started to go down hill. I took the opportunity to volunteer, which didn't lend itself well to my normal eating times. I ate when I finally remembered to do so. From that point on I've been off, timing wise. All week, while I've been eating the right things (until today), but was missing meals. Then Tuesday I missed my cardio day (can't remember why) and yesterday I missed my UBWO (because I was on a date). Today, I ate a bunch of mini Reese Cups, which is odd in itself, because I don't care for chocolate that much. (Yeah, there's a reason why I wanted to eat the chocolate, but I'll spare the guys), and I'm going to miss yet another cardio this evening. I don't want to lose my momentum. It's the first time since we started that I've missed a workout. I'll get back to it tomorrow, I promise, but I may need someone to hold me accountable to make sure I make it happen.

  • Hey Prettybrains,

You can do it!! We all fall off at one point or another:) I missed my workout Sunday, not thinking I would and I followed the eating that day too...but I did cardio and lower body the next day:) I haven't been filling out my eating plan in my notebook but I know I have done well there..I still have to get back on track with that tho:) So, I just steped it up and got back on track:) I had a really good run yesterday and went up to my highest peak so far:)

Just get back on track..the thing with this program is that your body is used to habit now and even for a few days off track...that won't kill the past 5 and a half weeks:) You got this just keep pushing yourself with water intake, workouts, have bars in your purse and make it a priority...I even missed class yesterday to get food and eat:) Not a strict teacher or class and getting a good grade so I just took a deep breath and proceeded with the day:)

  • WOW OLIVIAS8!!!!! What a change!!!! Great job!! :)) Keep it up girl!!!! SO COOL!!!!

You are doing so well I am blown away!!

  • Olivias8--lookin good!  Congrats on your progress so far!!!!

  • Prettybrains---omg I swear this was basically going to be my exact post.  Even to the reeses (I don't like chocolate either)! lol

This week has just been off for me regarding my diet.  I'm getting my workouts in, but I feel so hungry.  I've identified what the "problem" is, but it isn't something I can change.  I'm half marathon training so all of my cardio days are well above the 20 min cardio sessions I should be doing.  After I get home from that I'm starving and I just grab anything quick (reeses).  I'm going to go to the grocery store this weekend and get some protein bars so I'll have them to eat in the car on the way home from my runs.  I think that will solve my starvation issue.

I know other than tonight's workout and tomorrow's long run, I will not be following the program much. That seems to happen to me every weekend though.  Does anyone else have that problem?  I might have to really focus and force myself to do well this weekend, especially since I haven't been eating great this week.

  • Good afternoon all of ya'll, I started BFL on Aug 29th also, so fur i have been staying on track with the Weight and Cardo Exercise 6 days a week, but i have a lot of trouble eating veg, I have been dieting for 3 months and i lost 10lbs before i started BFL but sense i started eating 6 small meals a day and doing weight exercise i have not lost any weight i have gained back 2lbs, everyone says it is Muscle, it is very disappointing to see gain instead of lost But i am hanging in there for the full 12 weeks, i did not take any pictures when i started but i did take picture the begining of this week so i am hoping that i will be able to see some kind of change by the end of the 12 wks, i am 5'3 and 152lbs, i waited tables for 9yrs when i was alot younger and i had 4 children to carry around and chase after. So i use to have lots of muscles but now that i am 42 some of those muscles have turned into loose skin.. but i have noticed that sense i started that my muscles have started toning up again. So i am seeing some  change just not on the scale.. I wish everyone the best of luck!!!

  • I can't believe week 7 is just around the corner. When i started this challenge i really had no faith in myself to go the entire 12 weeks. But now.. i know i can do it. I can see myself finishing this and i am soo excited! My body changes must be getting noticable now, i've had quite a few comments and i  bought my first size 12 pair of jeans on Friday!!! i cou;dn't believe that they fit! bit i know they are pretty stretchy but 7 weeks ago i struggled to fit into my 14 stretchy jeans! so i thought to celebrate i would get my ear pierced. i have been wanting it done for a few years now and i totally chicken out every time. I've signed up to start dancing again and its only 1 night a week so shouldn't take too much out of me. I have never EVER felt this great before in my entire life! my partner is amazed and can't believe how great i am looking.. now he might propose to make sure i stay put!! (joking!!)

    how does everyone feel????

Can you believe that you have made it this far ?

  • Hey BSmith0211! Thanks for posting and letting us know how you're doing. I would suggest that you put that scale away. Put it in the trunk of your car, hide it under the bed, do anything with it, but use it to weigh yourself. Watching the scale will make you crazy. Focus on your inches lost instead, not in that, I'm going to measure myself everyday way, but rather by the fitting of your clothes, that will probably have a much more positive impact on you. Keep up the hard work. You can do this!

Tashiana8 - Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the encouragement. It was much needed. And I'm back on track.

Jen - what the heck is going on with us? :-) Have you done any research/reading on how you should eat when training for a marathon? You may require more/less of something that you're not getting w/ BFL? Just a thought.

Okay, so I got back on track after three days of chaos. Yesterday was a good eating day, and I was able to get my LBWO in. Today, I WILL eat right, and this morning I got in my cardio and UBWO. Figured I better do it early so that there are no excuses.

  • Olivias8, don't you just love the feeling of buying a clothing item in a smaller size? There is nothing better. Well, there are a few things better, but you get the point. LOL. I've not purchased anything new because I'm having too much fun finding clothes in my closet that fit. I've put on a couple of slacks this past week that I now have to pull up. Joy, joy!

What kind of dancing do you do?

    Robin

  • Im starting just an adult jazz group! will be enough to get my heart pumping. I used to dance years ago but never had the self confidence to go back! the thought of jumping around and my wobblies wobbling didn't really appeal to me! but now i can't wait!

An yes ive been finding new clothes to! its just as great as going shopping!!

    Good work!!
